Responsibilities

About the Opportunity

 

DMI is seeking a full-time Database Specialist with an ACTIVE TOP SECRET Clearance for a project with the US Army located in Fort Knox, Kentucky.

 

The Database Specialist (DBS) provides the planning, coordination, utilization and administration of Oracle relational databases, and other file organization and access methods. The manager shall be responsible for ensuring appropriate definition, organization, security, integrity, operational efficiency, operational support, scheduling and documentation of the databases. The DBS acts as the arbiter over the structure and contents of critical databases, establishing and enforcing rules, standards and guidelines. The DBS establishes written guidelines for the overall use of database management systems; implement highly complex projects maintain, modify, update, and providing quality assurance and performance-tuning for database, according to software specifications, IT protocols, and established business rules.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:   

  • The database manager/administrator must hold an ACTIVE TOP SECRET Clearance and should have experience in the following management and technical areas:

    • Systems incorporating Sun Solaris 10, RHEL 5/6/7, Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, Oracle 11g/12c, and WebLogic.
    • Data modeling, data architectures and database design.
    • Knowledge of Datacentric records management.
    • Database schema and table configuration.
    • Content, Helpdesk, Ticketing, Workflow, and Knowledge Management tools and application. Confluence, JIRA, and Serena are the current tools.
    • Knowledge of Agile Software Development.
    • Knowledge and experience in the support, administration and development on the Microsoft SQL Server platforms.
    • Knowledge of SQL Server Clustering and Reporting.
    • Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
    • Ability to take ownership of projects and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
    • Problem solving and analytical skills.
    • Must have a good understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC).
    • Position may require limited on-call status to support system requirements, initiatives, or customer requests after hours and during weekends.

 

Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience: 

  • Seven years of relevant experience with:

  • Systems incorporating Sun Solaris 10, RHEL 5/6/7, Windows Server

  • 2003/2008/2012, Oracle 11g/12c, and WebLogic.

  • Data modeling, data architectures and database design.

  • Knowledge of Datacentric records management.

  • Database schema and table configuration.

  • Content, Helpdesk, Ticketing, Workflow, and Knowledge Management tools and application. Confluence, JIRA, and Serena are the current tools.

  • Knowledge of Agile Software Development.
