Responsibilities

About the Opportunity
Digital Management, Inc. (DMI) is looking for a full time Software Configuration Management Analyst to support NASA. The Software Configuration Management Analyst works with NASA Software Configuration Management team to provide technical solutions to support SCM Processes.  The SCM Tech analyst is primarily responsible for implementing and maintaining SCM tools, developing and implementing processes and procedures for builds, deployments and software releases.  This position will work closely with SCM, Production Support, Development, Project Managers and IT staff.  As such, the candidate can expect to perform any or all of the following functions.

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Implement and maintain SCM tools such as Rational Asset Manager, Collaborative Lifecycle Management, Subversion, etc.
  • Develop, implement and maintain automated build and deployment scripts
  • Install and configure applications in development and QA environments
  • Provide technical solutions for general SCM tasks such as change control, status accounting and auditing
  • Provide training and support to end users of SCM tools

 

Required Education and Experience:

 

  • 5+ years relevant work experience in software configuration management
  • BS/BA in Computer Science or related field
  • Must have experience with RAM and other Rational tools
  • Manage the release management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases for multiple applications across the program
  • Conduct Release Readiness and Go/No-Go reviews
  • Perform weekly release reporting
  • Experience establishing SCM processes and working with the development team to ensure all parties adhere to these processes
  • Experience writing scripts for SCM build and deployment activities
  • Perl, Python, and Shell Scripting experience required
  • Experience using and administering SCM tools
  • Hands-on experience assisting developers with issues related to SCM tool use (check in/out, branching, and tagging)
  • Familiar with building and deploying Java, Cold Fusion, and Drupal applications
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration concepts
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Must have the initiative and ability to investigate and resolve issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and customer focus a must.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative to get tasks done
  • Team player, must be able to work professionally and collaboratively with the government customer and other contract members of the project team
  • Ability and willingness to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment with deadlines
  • Manage time effectively with minimal supervision
