About the Opportunity:
DMI is looking for a Visual Designer to join our growing creative team in the Bay area. Working in the Studio under the direction of the Creative Director, the Visual Designer is a fresh creative thinker able to translate and extend concepts into effective digital, interaction, and campaign based designs. Attention to detail and ability to uphold and deliver work at the highest quality standards is essential. Passion for design in all media is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Our Visual Designer's goal is to push their creative boundaries in order to craft conceptual ideas and experiences then flawlessly execute them with a strong attention to detail. Here’s your ideal skill set:
Able to juggle multiple concurrent projects, and work closely with clients and internal teams to play a critical role in everything from initial ideation to the final product.
Work closely with the Strategy, UX, Copy and Development teams to conceptualize, execute and troubleshoot your projects to delivery.
Clearly communicate your ideas and direction, whether written or verbally to clients and your teammates.
Confidently build client relationships through understanding of their needs and presenting appropriate designs and concepts.
Able to adapt your ideas to fit the character and tone of different brands, and strive to continually evolve and grow each brand’s look, feel and personality.
Be a strategic thinking, business-savvy designer with a keen, in-depth understanding of the digital landscape and trends, and can translate user needs, and technical capabilities into designs that are visually exciting, easy to use, and emotionally engaging.
Education and Years of Experience:
3 to 5 years of agency experience is a MUST.
Experience working collaboratively with all levels of designers and copywriters.
A strong portfolio that demonstrates your graphic design thinking and core skills across a variety of client categories and design formats & methodologies ( e.g. brand identity systems, print, illustration, motion design, digital interface design, email marketing.)
Have a mastery of Sketch and Adobe CC applications (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Familiar with prototyping your designs (using InVision, Principle, etc.) Experience and skills with motion design are a bonus.
Knowledge of user interface design processes and methodology within mobile and desktop environments.
