About the Opportunity

Digital Management, Inc. (DMI) is looking for a Lead Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Engineer to work with their DMI teammates and USAFA customers to develop and install a new Student Information System (SIS) at USAFA. Following implementation and acceptance, the emphasis will shift to operation and sustainment of the new SIS. The Campus Solutions Engineer will lead efforts to work closely with clients, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. The Campus Solutions Engineer will apply system solutions to business problems through design and programming; custom coding may be required but will be used only as the exception.


Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate/work closely with Project Managers and other members of the SIS integration team to ensure timely completion of deliverables
  • Manage project tasks, timelines, and communication
  • Design and creation of relational database schemas
  • Routine daily maintenance of existing sites and applications
  • Fix software issues and code irregularities
  • Perform code maintenance, testing, and analysis
  • Implement software or product enhancements
  • Give technical feedback to non-technical business professionals
  • Design and complete project assignments
  • Stay current about industry developments
  • Write reports and documentation as needed
  • Must ensure STIG compliance and be able to address applicable IAVMs within allotted timeframes
  • Must be able to install applicable Oracle CPUs within allotted timeframes
  • Must be able to implement, sustain, and monitor an automated audit log
  • Other tasks as needed for successful project completion


Education and Years of Experience: 

  • B.S. (M.S. preferred) in computer science or related field
  • 7 years' experience working with IT systems used in support of higher learning

Required Skills/Certifications:

  • Able and willing to perform all of the duties and responsibilities described above
  • Excellent oral and written communication: Clear, concise, and professional
  • Must have extensive experience and knowledge of: PeopleTools, Application Designer, PeopleSoft Development, Application Engine, PeopleCode, SQL, PL/SQL, Java
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to filter through complex customer details to determine the root of an issue
  • Ability to read and decipher software log and trace files is a plus
  • PeopleSoft Campus Solutions 9 Student Enrollment Certified Implementation Specialist certification is required
  • CompTIA Security+, or equivalent, is required

Desired Skills/Certifications:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional/Manager (CISSP/M) certification is highly desired
  • Knowledge of DoD, Air Force and/or USAFA documentation and procedures is desired
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3 Foundation certification, or higher, is desired
  • Knowledge of, and/or certifications in, the Agile software development methodology is desired
  • Knowledge of, and ability to use, Atlassian Jira software is desired
  • Knowledge of, and ability to use, Microsoft SharePoint is desired
  • Knowledge of, and ability to use, OBIEE is desired
  • Knowledge of RMF and/or eMASS is desired
  • Knowledge of, and experience working with 508 compliance, SSN Reduction Act, PII, and/or HIPPA is also desired
