About the Opportunity

Digital Management, Inc. (DMI) is looking for a RedHat Linux System Administrator to work with their DMI teammates and USAFA customers to develop and install a new Student Information System (SIS) at USAFA. Following implementation and acceptance, the emphasis will shift to operation and sustainment of the new SIS. The RedHat Linux System Administrator will help build the IT infrastructure used to support the new USAFA SIS. 


Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate/work closely with Project Managers and other members of the SIS integration team to ensure timely completion of deliverables
  • Manage project tasks, timelines, and communication
  • Experience designing/building/maintaining continuous delivery pipelines
  • Support application deployments
  • Using monitoring tools to find problems, resolve and/or escalate to development
  • Assisting developers in debugging application issues
  • Participate in the building of tools and processes to support the infrastructure
  • Leverage scripting to build required automation and tools on an adhoc basis.
  • Must ensure STIG compliance and be able to address applicable IAVMs within allotted timeframes
  • Must be able to install applicable RedHat Linux patches within allotted timeframes
  • Must be able to implement, sustain, and monitor an automated audit log
  • Other tasks as needed for successful project completion


Education and Years of Experience: 

  • B.S. (M.S. preferred) in computer science or related field
  • 7 years' experience working with IT systems; system experience used in support of higher learning is desired

Required Skills/Certifications:

  • Able and willing to perform all of the duties and responsibilities described above
  • Excellent oral and written communication: Clear, concise, and professional
  • Understanding of protocols/technologies like HTTP, SSL, Servlet/JSP, SQL, XML, JSON, HTM
  • Understanding of build and integration applications like maven, Jenkins
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification is required
  • CompTIA Security+, or equivalent, is required

Desired Skills/Certifications:

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional/Manager (CISSP/M) certification is highly desired
  • Knowledge of DoD, Air Force and/or USAFA documentation and procedures is desired
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3 Foundation certification, or higher, is desired
  • Knowledge of, and/or certifications in, the Agile software development methodology is desired
  • Knowledge of, and ability to use, Atlassian Jira software is desired
  • Knowledge of, and ability to use, Microsoft SharePoint is desired
  • Knowledge of, and ability to use, OBIEE is desired
  • Knowledge of RMF and/or eMASS is desired
  • Knowledge of, and experience working with 508 compliance, SSN Reduction Act, PII, and/or HIPPA is also desired
