Responsibilities

About the Opportunity

 

Digital Management, Inc. (DMI) is looking for a Business Analyst to work with their DMI teammates and USAFA customers to develop and install a new Student Information System (SIS) at USAFA. Following implementation and acceptance, the emphasis will shift to operation and sustainment of the new SIS. The Business Analyst will help identify those existing USAFA business practices that can be directly implemented in Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, identify the business practices that either require system modifications to implement and/or require process re-engineering.

 

Duties and Responsibilites:

  • Coordinate/work closely with Project Managers and other members of the SIS integration team to ensure timely completion of deliverables
  • Manage project tasks, timelines, and communication
  • Preparing and documenting business requirements according to standard templates, using natural language
  • Bbusiness process system design, development, and implementation
  • Knowledge of project management and operations management
  • Able to perform needs analysis with users and convey findings to software engineers
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
  • Good understanding of the software development process
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple concurrent projects
  • Knowledge of principal software testing techniques, tools and principles
  • Detail oriented
  • Experience preparing test cases and bug reports
  • Analyze test output, identify discrepancies and clearly document defects

 

Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience: 

  • B.S. (M.S. preferred) in computer science or related field
  • 7 years' experience working with IT systems used in support of higher learning

Required Skills/Certifications:

  • Able and willing to perform all of the duties and responsibilities described above
  • Excellent oral and written communication: Clear, concise, and professional 

Desired Skills/Certifications:

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification is desired
  • Knowledge of DoD, Air Force and/or USAFA documentation and procedures is desired
  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3 Foundation certification, or higher, is desired
  • Knowledge of, and/or certifications in, the Agile software development methodology is desire
  • Knowledge of, and ability to use, Atlassian Jira software is desired
  • Knowledge of, and ability to use, Microsoft SharePoint is desired
  • Knowledge of, and ability to use, OBIEE is desired
  • Knowledge of RMF and/or eMASS is desired
  • Knowledge of, and experience working with 508 compliance, SSN Reduction Act, PII, and/or HIPPA is also desired

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background check
