About the Opportunity

DMI is currently seeking to hire an Project Manager (Scrum Master) - Entry Level.


Position Description:

The APLES Program Management Office (PMO) ingests schedules and reports status of all work within the scope of the APLES contract, ensuring strategic alignment through standards, processes, and portfolio-level management. The PMO is also responsible for project execution with a focus on project management principles of time, budget, and scope. 

This execution-level leadership position will report to a Scrum Coach and facilitate day-to-day Scrum Team activities, resolve impediments, provide status reporting promote best practices, and maintain sprint schedules (utilizing Microsoft Project Server).

Duties and Responbilities:

  • Facilitate day-to-day Scrum Team activities
  • Ensure impediments to delivery are removed/resolved or escalated appropriately
  • Promote Scrum principles, values, roles, rules, and practices
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and Scrum Team members for best value software development and delivery
  • Effectively coordinate efforts of teams comprised of analyst/programmers and specialists in designing and implementing computer systems
  • Evaluate proposed information systems to determine technical feasibility with government specified technologies, cost for implementation and operation, as well as functional adequacy
  • Under supervision of Scrum Coach and Project Manager, ensure Scrum Team efforts align with program priorities
  • Work with Scrum Coach to develop meaningful metrics
  • Provide Scrum Team reporting
  • Maintain sprint schedule(s) in MS Enterprise Project Management tool and ensure conformance to work standards
  • Monitor capacity/resource allocations and escalate issues to Scrum Coach
  • Follow process to ensure sprint release success
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with team and stakeholders to ensure project schedule and performance conforms to established functional requirements and Government expectations
  • Use tools in accordance with enterprise procedures (MS Team Foundation Server (TFS), MS Project Server, Remedy Change/Release Management)
  • Identify, formally document, and actively manage risks
  • Track project milestones and deliverables 


Education/Experience Requirements:

  • BA/BS AND 6 years comparable experience
  • MA/MS (or Industry Standard Certification) AND 2 years comparable experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • An experienced Scrum Master with a strong understanding and hands-on experience with agile Methods
  • Knowledge and thorough understanding of key aspects of System Development Life Cycle/Software Engineering Life Cycle, Agile Development, and Scrum Methodologies
  • Flexibility and proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong customer service and consultation skills
  • Ability to operate independently within established methodologies and guidelines
  • Expertise using project scheduling software (MS Project Professional and Project Web Application Server) as well as proven experience authoring project management plans, schedules, and risk registers
  • Thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of Tools (MS Project Server, TFS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc)

Beneficial Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification
  • Experience with agile engineering (DevOps) practices
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Remedy Change/Release Management
  • Team Foundation Server (TFS)
