    About the Opportunity

    Applications monitoring services include but are not limited to the following tasks:

    • Architect and deploy clustered/distributed applications monitoring implementations
    • Administer applications monitoring tools such as Splunk and Splunk Apps to include developing new/custom Apps to perform specialized functionality.
    • Integrate applications monitoring tools with a wide variety of legacy data sources and security tools that use various protocols.
    • Consult with customers to customize and configure applications monitoring tools in order to meet their requirements.
    • Perform advanced searching and reporting to help with the implementation of custom dashboards.
    • Perform maintenance and optimization of existing clustered applications monitoring tools deployments. 
    • Draft formal documentation such as reports, training material, slide decks, and architecture diagrams on applications monitoring tools.
    • Develop standard auditing/monitoring frameworks for infrastructure and applications to integrate into in order to provide a base level of monitoring services across all products and applications.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Personnel who provide applications monitoring services must meet the following minimum qualifications:

    • Strong experience and comfort operating in the Linux CLI and Splunk .conf files
    • Experience in SOAP, REST API, web-based technologies and scripting languages including Javascript, Python and shell scripting, XML, HTML
    • Experience in requirements analysis, engineering, product testing
    • Expert knowledge of TCP/IP and networking fundamentals

    Qualifications

    Education and Years of Experience:

    • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience with system administration and System Event and Incident Management (SEIM) technologies/integrations
    • A minimum of 3 years of work experience with Splunk real-time processing architecture and deployment; Splunk dashboard design a big plus

     Required Skills/Certifications:

    • Active TS is required (SCI eligible)

    Desired Skills/Certifications:

    • A Splunk Administrator certification and/or Splunk Architect certification is preferred
