About the Opportunity

DMI is currently seeking to hire a Senior Software Developer - Java to support development and maintenance efforts for a Federal Government customer in the Denver metro area (Lakewood, CO). The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting operational and enhancement activities for major operational systems.
Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments. Plans and leads major technology assignments. Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success. In this position, you will work closely with business analysts, QAs, DBAs, and other developers who share a common goal: delivering highly reliable and maintainable systems to the federal government client.


Duties and Responsibilities:   

  • Design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement software. Troubleshoot production problems related to software applications.
  • Address problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
  • Perform feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management.
  • Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools.
  • Resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
  • Working with an agile development methodology.
  • Experience working in large groups
  • Extensive experience with .Net and Java based web applications
  • Developing Java web apps using WebLogic Application Server and Oracle database server
  • Database programming using SQL queries and stored procedures
  • Experience with Spring and Hibernate frameworks
  • Building web services - SOAP and REST
  • Developing XML/XSD schemas, data extraction and validation 
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft .NET software development tools, languages, and frameworks.
  • Strong C# and development fundamentals, including Object Oriented Programming (OOP) 
  • Proven experience delivering Windows Mobile applications in either Windows 8.1 or 10
  • Experience in developing on WPF/Windows Mobile paradigms including Model View-View Model (MVVM) frameworks/patterns
  • Experience in Extensible Application Markup Language (XAML) including Windows Phone 8.1 and 10 development
  • Experience in C#/.NET including multithreaded programming, Entity Framework, SQLite, and Universal Windows Platform (UWP).
  • Experience in all parts of the Windows devices ecosystem including application development (application structure, device and OperatingS
  • System) API's,
  • Debugging, performance, security, deployment, updating, and roll-out)
  • Experience with back-end architecture and implementation (web services, databases, security), on platforms.
  • Experience in using JIRA for full development cycle.
  • Experience in developing windows desktop application.
  • Experience in working with Representational State Transfer (REST) and Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) services
  • Experience developing mobile applications.



Desired Skills/Certifications:


  • Exposure to Agile methodology at a Federal Agency.
  • Working knowledge of Angular JS, Ajax, JIRA, Spring, Hybernate. HTML 5
  • Working with large teams and collaborate
