About the Opportunity

Fullstack JavaScript Architect & Practice Lead


We are actively seeking a Fullstack JavaScript Architect & Practice Lead to drive thought leadership in the constantly evolving world of server-side & client-side JavaScript for our talented team of consultants in Indianapolis. This position will report directly to our Practice Area Director.

What You Can Expect


As a Fullstack JavaScript Architect & Practice Lead, you will spearhead customer projects using Node, React and various other JavaScript based technologies to build dynamic user experiences and application interfaces that exceed the expectations of our clients & their end users.  You will use your knowledge of web service APIs and microservice architectures to retrieve and persist complex data, construct web-based interactive applications and integrate with external systems.


As our principal consultant in the fullstack JavaScript space, you will:

  • Work closely with the Practice Director, meeting regularly to ensure practice alignment and success
  • Assist in proposal development, project planning, estimating and other sales support activities
  • Remain current on delivery methodologies, industry and technology trends via continuous learning opportunities and professional development involvement
  • Set and evolve standards and best practices for our application development team
  • Oversee process compliance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement activities






Our Must Have List


  • Deep understanding of the ever-evolving world of fullstack JavaScript
  • Significant experience with Express, Node.js and the NPM package ecosystem
  • Experience with React and React-based frameworks/libraries such as Flux, Redux, react-router, etc
  • Familiarity with advanced React concepts like server-side rendering, immutable data structures and higher order components
  • Knowledge of modern JavaScript and web technologies including ECMAScript (ES6/7), CSS pre-processors (SASS, Less), JavaScript transpilers (Babel, TypeScript), and JavaScript build tools (WebPack, Browserify, Grunt, Gulp)
  • Knowledge of other modern web frameworks and libraries, including Angular
  • Experience writing unit tests using Karma/Mocha/Jasmine/Protractor or other JavaScript testing frameworks
  • Experienced within the full software development lifecycle
  • Ability to conduct and participate in peer code reviews
  • Proven experience writing high quality code
  • Self-motivated with outstanding interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, and excellent communication and presentation skills
  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related field


 Desired, but Not Required


  • Consulting experience
  • Knowledge of modern API design and microservices architecture
  • Basic understanding of scalable web services solutions for authentication/authorization (e.g. OAuth/JWT), executable documentation (e.g. Swagger), deployment strategies (e.g. containerzation, serverless architecture)
  • Good understanding of HTTP spec concepts like status codes, request methods, caching
  • Experience with Agile development, comfortable working in 2-3 week sprints resulting in a working, potentially shippable product at the end of every sprint
