    About the Opportunity

    DMI is currently seeking to hire a Requirements Analyst/Technical Writer as part of a Web Services team to support a DOD client within the Quantico VA area.

     

     

    The candidate must have experience in requirements gathering, documentation for IT systems, and SharePoint documentation. The role requires a discipline and self-motivated, as well as a fast learner with exceptional follow-through and capable of working independently or with team members.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Utilize best practices to design and write all forms of end-user documentation: user guides, online help, training materials, quick-reference guides, etc.
    • Deliver quality materials under tight deadlines.
    • Support the written aspects of technical development (implementing master pages, views, forms, templates, external lists, external content types, custom lists, web parts, master pages and other SharePoint components).
    • Provide support for Business Communications, Compliance Documents, Installation Guides, Standard Operating Procedures, Policies, Process Guides, Programmer Reference, Project Communications, Quick Reference Guides, Service Manuals, Standards, System Documentation, Test Scripts, User Guides, and Websites/web-content.
    • Support Program Management in Quality Control Reporting and Quality Control Planning documentation, as well as other aspects of professional and polished program reporting.
    • Support technical team members by providing formatted templates as frameworks for professional delivery, identify improvements to written and visual presentation methods.
    • Support the client in both written and visual aspects of Web Service end-user content delivery.
    • Create a uniform style and language documentation.
    • Technical writing experience in a software development environment.
    • Experience working with Business Analysts and software Engineers to develop SDLC/back-end documentation.

    Qualifications

     

    Education and Years of Experience:

    • A Bachelor's Degree in English and/or Computer Science/Information Technology degree is required
    • 3+ years of IT technical writing experience, to include 3 years SharePoint experience.
    • Excellent writing skills; expert command of grammar and punctuation 
    • Master at simplifying complex and technical concepts
    • Experience at gathering business and functional requirements and translating them into functional technical requirements 

    Required Skills/Certifications:

    • An understanding of the Software Design Life-Cycle (SDLC).
    • Experience supporting Web Service technologies, SharePoint and SQL Server applications.
    • Advanced experience in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
    • Experience In using Remedy ITSM  

    Additional Requirements:

    • Must have a DOD Secret Clearance
    • Local travel as needed
    • An ability to prioritize for successful client outcome via strong planning and organizational skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Proactive and responsive client/customer direction 

    Desired Certification/ skill:

    • Security + with CE
    • SharePoint 2013 cert
