    About the Opportunity

     

    Digital Management, LLC (DMI) is seeking a full time Infotainment / Mobile software team lead to support our client in Michigan. You will be involved in all aspects of developing new features including user story elaboration, estimation, analysis, design, programming, unit/integration testing and debugging following Agile development practices such as Scrum and Extreme Programming (XP).  You will help to groom junior engineers through the examples of your own code. You must be capable of working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, be self-motivated, results-driven and detail-oriented to achieve success. You are a technology champion and change agent.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide leadership and assistance among and across teams/organizations
    • Guide our team on delivery of software using best practices.
    • Build a strong team using their collaboration skills. Interview and mentor team members.
    • Build industry leading mobile apps for connected vehicles on a global scale
    • Elaborate, estimate, and design for small increments of work…just-in-time
    • Commit to completing well-defined work and deliver on those commitments
    • Swarm around tasks along with other Scrum team members
    • Perform technology evaluation and design spikes
    • Test-drive code (Test Driven Development)
    • Pair program with different people in many situations
    • Report status of assigned software development tasks
    • Consistently follow the specified software development methodology
    • Model courageous and continuous learning to the team. Actively help team members continuously learn
    • Promote improvements in programming practices such as functional/acceptance test driven development, continuous integration, and test automation
    • Continuously learn and challenge the organization concerning new practices, processes, technologies, and languages
    • Facilitating direct employees, contracted resources or third party companies to develop, integrate, and test mobile application deliveries.

    Qualifications

    Required Skills/Certifications:

    • BS in Computer Science or other related field of study and applicable work experience
    • 7+ years of experience as a software developer on production project.
    • Proven experience/responsibility for design and architectural decisions of app
    • Must have strong teamwork orientation and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams
    • Experience with HTML5 technologies: Javascript, Angularjs, Bootstrap, Node.js, Bower, JQuery
    • Developed, Configured and Deployed a variety of Portals and UI Applications including HTML, CSS3
    • Experience with some of the following languages: Java and Android in a Production Application
    • Experience developing apps that interact with Web Services (REST)
    • Experience with native UI development for phones and tablets (multi-resolution support; resource utilization such as images, layouts, strings)
    • Experience with multi-threaded development on Android platform
    • Firm understanding of Intents, ContentProviders, Services, BroadcastReceivers, and Handlers
    • Experience with databases on mobile applications
    • Experience using a source code control such as Git
    • Proven knowledge and practical application of design patterns
    • The ability to identify and write appropriate tests leveraging mocking/spying frameworks for isolation of the   subject component
    • Knowledge of and desire to work in an Agile development environment
    • Experience with Android UI design (including custom views).
    • Knowledge of the following libraries: Dagger 2, RxJava, Retrofit, Butterknife.
    • Experience with Android Activities and Fragments.
    • Experience with multi-threaded development on Android platforms.
    • Understanding of Intents, Content Providers, Services, Broadcast Receivers, AsyncTask, Handlers and AIDL.
    • Experience with SQL Lite on Android.
    • Proven experience with object-oriented design and design patterns.
    • Technical depth that allows you to rapidly fix bugs and solve problems
    • Experience using source code control systems such as Git.
    • Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
    • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to effectively communicate and translate feedback, needs and solutions.
    • Must have strong teamwork orientation and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teams.
    • Needs good work ethic and strong sense of ownership of end result.
    • Automated testing with Espresso and Mockito

     

    Desired Skills/Certifications:

    • Experience working on Agile development and Scrum teams including experience working on Kanban based teams
    • Experience writing automated functional tests against a mobile app
    • Awareness of the UI/UX guidelines and platform specific UI constructs/widgets (able to visualize platform       specific approach to UI design given a user story)
    • Experience with Internationalization and Localization
    • Experience with native Android UI development for phones and tablets (multi-resolutions, resource utilization such as images, layouts, and strings).
    • Experience developing Android Widgets.
    • Experience with Bluetooth, NFC, Location and/or Accelerometer; other sensors.
    • Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins
