About the Opportunity:

Digital Management, LLC (DMI) is seeking for a talented, self starting Business Analyst/Technical Writer to support USmax Corporation.

 

The Business Analyst/Technical Writer to provide team support by managing office schedules, setting up meetings, reviewing various written work products and technical documents. Should be someone interested in technology and its application to government agencies. The selected candidate should be able to communicate with all levels of personnel from CxO to developers while maintaining composure and discretion. Should be able to facilitate resolution of discussions and influence people without having authority. Should be comfortable reviewing speeches, presentations and know how to use Microsoft Office products like Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide project support in setting up meetings, engagements, presentation and ensuring that the correct deliverables are available to the executive staff.
  • Write after-action reports summarizing vendor and interdepartmental meetings. Highlighting useful information, points of contact and reference documents where applicable.
  • Manage interactions with vendors and adhere to established procedures to ensure that policies are followed.
  • Answer phone and route calls to the appropriate project staff.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge of the following areas are a plus:

  • Understanding social networking and use of popular applications for the mobile-enabled workforce on both IOS and Android
  • Understanding data calls and the consolidated reporting practices of government agencies
  • Document management and document production practices
  • Understanding Open Source/Open Standards, Cloud Architecture, software lifecycles, and operational support processes for IT organizations
  • The successful individual will be one who is able to gracefully balance the demands of a strong client, multiple teams, and changing deadlines. This individual should know how to compartmentalize confidential information and help to coordinate activites with the client. They should be actively seeking opportunities to improve workflow and processes in support of the project goals.
  • The Business Analyst will report directly to the Project Manager, while also independently engaging in research, analysis, and writing tasks.

 

Qualifications

 

Education and Years of Experience: 

  • Bachelors degree or higher. Specialization in Technical Writing/English, Information Technology field or equivalent work experience. 
  • Excellent research, analysis, critical-thinking, and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-starter, must be able to work independently and arbitrate differences of opinion within the team
  • Basic understanding of the Software development lifecycle
  • Flair for technology (new interfaces and capabilities)
  • Strong customer service skills (interpreting needs of customer, deductive reasoning) - quick on their feet when dealing directly with clients
  • 1-2 years of desktop office automation (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) experience preferred
  • Prefer recent experience with SharePoint use and administration

Required Skills/Certifications:

  • candidate to pass the DHS agency-specific Background Investigation
  • Security Clearance DHS Clearance and/or active DoD clearance desired 

Desired Skills/Certifications:

  • Needs to go through CBP BI process
  • Security Clearance Previous Governent Clearance, public trust and/or active Secret clearance preferred
