About the Opportunity

Are you the type of person who wants to go home every day knowing they’ve made a positive impact on people’s lives?  If so, DMI is looking to add a Benefits Coordinator to our HR/Benefits team. The Benefits Coordinator adds a tremendous amount of value not only to the HR Team, but all 1,500 DMI employees by responding to inquiries regarding eligibility, coverage and other benefits matters in addition to assisting with the administration of DMI's benefit programs. You will join a team of HR professionals that embrace the DMI core values by demonstrating daily that we are customer driven and employee focused, we lead by example and take ownership and are both performance driven and trust partners.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides front line support as one of our points of contacts for employee questions or concerns regarding benefits
  • Conducts benefits presentations for new hire orientation and open enrollment to ensure employees understand our company’s benefit package
  • Processes enrollment for new hires and qualifying life event changes as well as ensure data integrity
  • Prepares and monitors benefit data for electronic transmission to third-party vendors; ensures data accuracy
  • Work directly with employees surrounding Evidence of Insurability, account creation for HSAs, workers compensation and other benefit needs
  • Generates standard ad hoc reports and maintains electronic employee benefit files
  • Documents and maintains benefit processes and procedures
  • Prepares and publishes benefit information and documents on the company’s intranet site
  • Other duties as assigned


Education and Years of Experience:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with 2 – 3 years of administrative experience, preferably in Benefits to include technical knowledge and benefits functional knowledge
  • Experience with ADP preferred
  • Computer Skills (Microsoft Office products, strong experience in Excel)

Required Skills/Certifications:

  • Proven experience with entering data into databases and maintaining data integrity
  • Report preparation and demonstrated ability review and gather information
  • Communicate effectively at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Problem solving and decision making skills with very close attention to detail
  • Must be able to work independently without close supervision


Physical Requirements: The success candidate must be able to stand for an extended person of time, kneel, bend, and ability to lift 25 lbs.
