    About the Opportunity


    DMI is currently seeking to hire a Database Analyst to support Federal Government customers on a long-term contract in the DC metro area. This developer will work on a variety software projects implementing database components for several portal and web-based systems.



    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Analyze customer data and write ETL scripts to load this data into an existing database schema
    • Design new tables and schemas to accommodate new requirements
    • Create and deploy new reports using SQL Server Reporting Services
    • Perform break/fix analysis for reported issues




    Education and Years of Experience:  

    • BS in Comp Science or equivalent

    Required Skills/Certifications: 

    • 4+ years of experience in MS SQL Server database development -including DB design, coding of stored procedures, functions, and development of complex queries.
    • 4+ years of experience in data analysis - reviewing business data and adjusting it to existing data models, or adjusting data models as necessary to accommodate data patterns.
    • Working Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts and modeling techniques (dimensional modeling, Star Schema, Snowflake, SCD, ODS, ETL, OLAP)
    • Working knowledge of software processes (Agile/Scrum Methodology, project management, architecture/design, requirements, development, QA/QC, deployment)
    • Excellent data analytical abilities
    • Excellent communication & presentation skills
    • Excellent writing skills
    • Personable and professional

    Desired Skills/Certifications: 

    • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) - defining, deploying, and maintaining report
    • Hands-on experience with Microsoft's Power BI platform
    • Experience with Big Data technologies and data definition (Hadoop data definition, etc)
    • Experience with Redgate software suite
