    About the Opportunity

    Digital Management, LLC (DMI) is seeking a full time Oracle Database Administrator with EXADATA experience to support its government customer in Seaside, CA.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Serve as the Oracle Database Administrator to develop, implement and maintain Oracle database infrastructure for classified systems in a large enterprise.
    • Plan, install, build, manage, support, configure and test database infrastructure components and connectivity
    • Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system
    • Planning, coordinating, and administering Oracle databases, including base definition, structures, documentation, upgrades, long range requirements, operational guidelines, protection, recovery, software installation, and resolving Oracle errors and failures
    • Administering, configuring, performance, recovery, backup and maintenance of the Oracle database environment
    • Identify physical facility requirements needed to operate database infrastructure components
    • Provide primary database administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of the database environment and performance issues
    • Maintain security in compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and supporting vendor requirements
    • Perform 24x7 on call duties on a rotation basis with the other database administrators
    • Monitor the database environment and be able to take proactive corrective action.
    • Provide troubleshooting and technical support services for database infrastructure
    • Provide consulting and support services to identify database infrastructure operational, monitoring and reporting
    • Perform database changes following existing change management processes.
    • Perform proactive capacity planning, including short term and long-term trend analysis, ensuring all infrastructure components are monitored for capacity and stability
    • Demonstrate the ability to time-manage and prioritize, take a proactive approach to improving services, and have an innovative and keen interest in learning new technologies.
    • Analyzes user requirements and statistics to identify trends and resolve performance issues
    • Define and integrate current best practices (technical, security, process) in database infrastructure solution analysis and definition.  
    • Coordinate regularly with management on solution plans and status


    Education and Years of Experience: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems / Computer Science or equivalent experience and a minimum of 3 years of related experience

    Clearance Requirement:

    • Must possess current active Secret SSBI clearance or Top Secret clearance
    • Applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must maintain program security clearance eligibility requirements

    Required Skills/Certifications:

    • 1 - 2 years proficiency in managing and administering Oracle Database
    • 1 - 2 years or more experience in database replication
    • Familiarity with UNIX / Linux operating systems
    • Good knowledge of Oracle solutions:
    • Oracle DataGuard
    • Oracle database management pack
    • Oracle Application Server
    • Good knowledge of CISCO UCS Solutions:
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills
    • Analyzes statistics to identify and resolve network problems. Keeps abreast of operational support technologies and industry trends

    Desired Skills/Certifications:  

    • Foundational or expert knowledge and experience with Information Technology
    • Infrastructure Library (ITIL)
    • Vmware and CISCO certification is a plus
    • System administration experience is a plus
