    About the Opportunity

    DMI is currently seeking an experienced professional to fill a Data Architect position for a software development team. The Data Architect will be part of a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary team focused on ensuring quality, compliance, and performance of the mobile application. Qualified applicant will provide support external government customer as well as internal program initiatives.



    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Ability to Facilitate data architecture working sessions across BI, Analytics and project teams

    • Ability to analyze legacy applications, understand business requirements and develop future state data architectures

    • Ability to determine database structural requirements by analyzing functional requirements, client business operations information, and evaluating existing system or applications

    • Ability to design/re-design, document, administer, and fine tuning database environments

    • Ability to create and maintain data standards, lineage and attribute mapping from data sources

    • Ability to conduct data analysis to determine how system/business requirements may best be implemented

    • Ability to analyze business or system data to identify synergies between different systems and define MDM strategies

    • Ability to write simple and complex SQL queries, stored procedures, indices, multiple joins, etc.

    • Ability to troubleshoot DB performance issues and recommend optimal resolution

    • Ability to define both the physical and logical DB structure and document system metadata

    • Ability to educate other team members on the system data and address questions as needed

    • Ability and willingness to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines


    Education and Years of Experience:  

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience in a technical or business discipline.
    • 6-10 yrs. of Prior Experiences in the following area
      • Designing and managing DB environment
      • Conducting system information analysis
      • Demonstrated problem solving for complex DB environments.
      • Must demonstrate the ability to work independently
      • Experience processing large amounts of structured and unstructured data
      • Experience with data movement and transformation technologies
      • Experience designing, administering, managing, and tuning database environments
      • Experienced with Big Data concepts and principles 


    Required Skills/Certifications: 

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Self-starter who takes initiative to get tasks done
    • Experience with following tools and concepts
      • Microsoft SQL Server, NoSQL, Oracle
      • Virtual Studio Team Services (VSTS)
      • Micro Strategy

    Additional Requirement(s): 

    1. Willingness to travel (up to 50%)
