    About the Opportunity

    DMI is hiring a Systems Analyst with good knowledge of cloud computing.  The qualifying candidate must poses the ability to thrive in a highly technical role where the challenges are as diverse as they are abundant.  Must think strategically about business, create technical drawings and documentation around customer objectives in complex situations. Document solution strategies, as well as deliver quantitative results as they pertain to contract metrics and deliverables. Candidate should be a top-notch communicator who is a self-motivated individual with a proven track record of producing technical documentation as it pertains to new process, measureable results in software/technology consulting and cloud environments. Candidate should be able to work with and support a Systems Engineering and Innovation team supporting services in the AWS cloud. Provide written prescriptive guidance as identified by team members as they discuss innovative ideas while working across network, storage, operating systems, and virtualization.  The ability to communicate in writing critical innovations across environments and technology with measurable business value. 

     

    DMI’s NASA Headquarters Information Technology Support Services (HITSS) contract is a large program that provides high quality IT services across many areas of NASA utilizing technologies such as Java, .Net, Drupal, AWS, virtualization, MicroStrategy, ServiceNow, agile development, etc to enable NASA HQ customers to accomplish NASA’s mission.  We support our customer’s vision to deliver reliable, innovative and respected IT solutions.  Our team provides this support in the areas of Software Development and Testing, IT Engineering, IT Operations, Multimedia, Security, Project Management, Help Desk support, Strategy and Policy support, and Administrative support.  

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Design business processes and workflow strategies for the management, access and retrieval of data

    • Defines data rules and relationships and develops methods of quality control of databases or database management

    • Reviews, analyzes, streamlines and documents business processes

    • Experience with version control systems such as Github

    • Plan, organize and prioritize a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner

    • Meet critical time deadlines and deliverables by setting priorities

    • Document infrastructure and platform processes

    • Document existing operational procedures

    • Document the design and ongoing management systems that deliver against strict requirements for functionality, scalability performance and reliability

    • Document process for automated script deployments and supporting processes

    • Document process and procedures to proactively manage pre-production and production environments

    • Ability to effectively communicate information, both verbally and written, to end users and executive management, understanding when to speak up and deliver an assertive message in support of the project. 

    • Team player, must be able to work professionally and collaboratively with the government customer and other contract members of the project team.

    • Ability and willingness to multi-task and work in an often fast-paced environment with deadlines.

     

    Qualifications

    Education and Years of Experience:  

    • 4 year degree or equivalent work experience

    Required Skills/Certifications:

     

    Be fully capable to produce the following documentation with minimal supervision:

    • Online help
    • Web-based documentation
    • Operator manuals and installation guides
    • Programmer and administrator guides
    • Technical reference manuals
    • Process documentation, SOPs, work flows and work integrations
    • System design documents and assembly manuals
    • Writing - clear concise manner
    • Technical - IT Aptitude in cloud computing
    • Systems Engineering  Terminology Comprehension
    • Documentation Standards
    • Critical Listening and Thinking
    • Translate technical terminology
    • Effective requirements gathering techniques

    Desired Skills/Certifications:

    Technologies needed to be familiar with:

    • Private, Public, and Hybrid Cloud Architectures
    • VMWare ESX (Hypervisor)
    • AWS
    • Experience with version control systems such as Github
    • Continuous Integration and Delivery (Jenkins or similar)
    • Puppet experience is ideal, but will look at Chef, Ansible or Salt
    • Expertise scripting in Python, Bash, PowerShell etc.
    • Experience integrating RESTful APIs across multiple technologies
    • Basic TCP/IP networking knowledge a plus
