    About the Opportunity

    DMI is currently seeking to hire a Operations Security Analyst for a Federal Government customer on a contract in the Martinsburg/Kearneysville, WV area.


    The Application Security group is responsible for ensuring cyber security concerns are properly addressed during the systems engineering life-cycle for over 35 US Coast Guard business applications. This includes identification and analysis of federal security requirements, security and privacy impact analysis, attack surface analysis, threat modeling, static and dynamic code analysis, and other industry best practices.


    The Operations Security Analyst candidate will be responsible for the integrating into engineering and operational teams ensuring proper assessment and implementation of federal security requirements. They will help with the interpretation and analysis of security requirements and policies, and conduct impact analysis for security/privacy concerns, perform POAM management, and leak risk acceptance efforts. This role will require close collaboration with Security Engineers, Engineering, Operational, and other subject matter experts.


     Duties and Responsibilities:  

    • Assist in monitoring, incorporation, and analysis of federal security requirements impacting business systems
    • Translate federal and organizational cyber security requirements into specifications meaningful to senior management, stakeholders, and Engineering/Operational staff members
    • Leverage industry good practice expertise to enhance the maturity of security services offered by the group
    • Participate in internal staff meetings and other stakeholder discussions
    • Provide process and quality improvement recommendations
    • Conduct security impact analysis for business system changes
    • Provide project status updates describing the state of assigned security related deliverables, accomplishments, and significant risk items
    • Estimate work duration and detailed tasks for input to project schedules
    • Adhere to local organizational policies, procedures, and practices


    Education and Years of Experience:

    • AA/AS or Industry Standard Certification will be accepted if sufficiently technical experience is demonstrated to offset the educational requirement OR
    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering or equivalent technical field and 2+ years of experience OR
    • MA/MS and zero years of experience


    Required Skills/Certifications:

    • This role requires thought leadership, strong analysis skills, and the ability to interact with varying stakeholder entities
    • Excellent business analysis skills, including strong communication abilities
    • Ability to compress knowledge to an easily understandable level of organization circulation
    • Ability to lead, provide advise, and coordinate others
    • Ability to take ownership of projects and multi-task in a fast paced environment
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate to all levels of the organization
    • Security+ or higher level DoD approved 8570 IA baseline certifications
    • Broad understanding of federal security requirements, including: FISMA & NIST 800-53 controls, Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs), Nessus/ACAS                               


    Desired Skills/Certifications:

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
    • Strong presentation skills

    Additional Requirements: US Citizenship and active clearance required; Min Public Trust (Secret preferred)
