    About the Opportunity

    Digital Management, Inc. (DMI) is currently seeking to hire a Sr. Linux Systems Administrator to support an Information Management System for a Federal Government customer on a long-term contract in the DC metro area.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Operate and maintain all Enterprise Management functions and perform EM activities managed by customer. Integrate, operate, and maintain COTS and GOTS system management tools to improve the overall operation and maintenance of the customers managed production systems.
    • Support system and database administrators, database managers, and desktop support personnel by updating the configuration of system management tools to meet new/changing mission requirements.
    • Prepare, review, and evaluate documentation, specifications, test plans, and procedures.
    • Provide weekly status reports.
    • Design, install, configure, administer, tune and optimize systems servers and related components to achieve high availability and performance of the various applications supported.
    • Troubleshooting and diagnostics of common network problems, hardware and software upgrades, and provide technical support as required.
    • Conduct research, cost-benefit and return-on-investment analysis on proposed hardware, software and systems to justify recommendations, support purchasing efforts and aid management in making infrastructure design and architecture decisions.
    • Perform mentoring & training of team members, staff, and end-users.
    • Enterprise Backup Support: Conduct and maintain the Enterprise Backup solution as required
    • Install, upgrade, maintain and troubleshoot the approved backup software, databases, and product patches.
    • Provide 24x7 hour on-call support primary and alternate sites, which may require interfacing with multiple support teams to provide prompt problem determination and resolution and travel to and from the sites.
    • Set-up and configure high availability environments utilizing clustering, load balancing, data replication, and failover capabilities.
    • Develop and implement disaster recovery plans.
    • Perform daily system auditing.
    • Storage Administration Support: Operate and maintain all centralized storage arrays
    • Implementation and support of enterprise SAN, NAS.

    Perform Installation, implementation, upgrades, maintenance, and support of the Storage Area Network (SAN) architecture, software and utilities.


    Education: Bachelor’s degree, related technical training (or equivalent experience) plus at least two years of directly related experience.


    Required Skills/Experience: Red Hat Linux – Level II Systems Administration, Shell Scripting, Patching, Security Configuration
