    About the Opportunity

    DMI is seeking a full time Systems Architect to support a client. A r highly qualified Systems Architect to develop System and Component level Architecture Strategy and Technical Specifications for Platform/features to support Connected Vehicle products launch globally.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Work with both Technical and Product teams to gain in-depth understanding of complex system concepts and functionality
    • Responsible for architecture strategy development for Ford Mobility Platforms, Embedded Modem integration and mobile app integration working with multiple stake holders
    • Responsible for developing complex technical specifications at system level and sub-system level
    • Works with cross functional groups to develop interoperability interfaces across sub systems and translate them into sub system level requirements for building state-of-the-art connected vehicle systems architecture
    • Provide guidance and inputs for feature design verification plans working with requirements engineering teams and feature owners
    • Responsible for engineering efficient over the air firmware/software update strategy for all electronic modules through interfacing with vehicle engineering teams and IT backend systems
    • Responsible for managing technical requirements to multiple sub systems and provide guidance on system design and technologies
    • Develop precise and audience focused documentation/specification by applying industry standard modeling methodologies and concepts
    • Work with strategic teams to migrate features to new vehicle programs.
    • Resolve any open design questions during development process
    • Work with Verification teams, Plants & Customers to Triage/ Root Cause / Resolve Issues
    • Issue change requests when necessary, champion CR’s through the process and ensure all impacted documents are updated upon approval of CRs

     

     

    Qualifications

     

    Education and Years of Experience: 

    • BS Engineering Discipline with Computer Sciences

    Required Skills/Certifications:

    • Knowledge and experience with systems architecture and engineering fundamentals and interoperability standards and emerging trends
    • Strong knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture and hands-on implementation experience with Enterprise Applications and Integration patterns
    • Knowledge of enterprise IT systems and their interoperability mechanisms
    • Experience in using Architecture/Software modeling concepts and tools (any standard tool)
    • Knowledge of vehicle to cloud connectivity or knowledge of Internet of Things is preferred
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to navigate through working teams across multiple departments
    • Ability to work with large cross-functional teams under aggressive timelines and sporadic heavy workloads
    • Ability to prioritize tasks on hand by evaluating long-term implications
    • Experience analyzing system failure points, evaluating pros and cons of solution proposals including conducting FMEAs
    • Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills, both written and oral
    • Prior experience in Auto, Engineering and product development areas is a plus
    • Self-learner and should be easily adapt to new concepts, tools, methodologies

    Desired Skills/Certifications:

    • Good knowledge of XML, SOAP, REST, UML, Message Flows, SOA Security, Microservices and Messaging concepts.
    • Experience with Web Services, Application Servers, Enterprise Service Bus, IoT
    • Practical experience working with large enterprise systems, Message Oriented Middleware
    • Broad knowledge of SOA products and offerings
    • Knowledge of embedded programming in any language, Vehicle Architecture, CAN diagnostics tools and Hardware engineering is a plus
