    About the Opportunity

    An exciting new role within DMI International has been created for a UX Researcher.

    The UX Researcher is a highly empathic and user centered individual that acts as a bridge between Research Activities and User Experience. The UX Researcher is capable of surfacing and decoding behaviours and unmet needs and translate them into tangible design decisions that funnel into the product’s or service’s overall user experience, user scenarios, flows, wireframes and other design artifacts. Oh, and the right candidate needs to be passionate about what they do and be able to wear many hats. The right candidate will feel at home in a truly diverse group from all the corners of the world who enjoy the occasional BBQ on our cool terrace in the heart of Barcelona.

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Design, plan, organize and conduct research activities - interviews, contextual inquiries, concept evaluation sessions and usability tests
    • Source participants (work with external recruiting agencies), plan and schedule interviews, testing sessions
    • Decode and translate data into insights in order to drive design decisions
    • Collaborate in ideation/prototyping activities for validation of new products or services in the market
    • Communicate research results clearly and effectively to different teams and recommend concrete design decisions
    • Participate in the production of user requirements specifications, personas, storyboards, scenarios, flowcharts, design prototypes, and design specifications as necessary.
    • Participate as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes other designers, project management, business and brand strategists, and hardware and software developers

    Participate in scoping and estimation work along with sales and development leads

    Qualifications

    Must Haves:

    • Minimum of 3 years industry experience.
    • Proficient in guerilla, remote (moderated, unmoderated) and lab testing methods as well as in conducting interviews
    • Proficient in screening candidates based on given criteria (existing personas)
    • Knowledgeable of design patterns and how to apply them within a variety of contexts (vehicle, mobile, web, etc.)
    • Experience with applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with customers, along with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and user experience
    • Working knowledge of design and prototyping tools, such as Adobe Suite, Sketch inVision, etc.
    • Proficient in a variety of methods to convey ideas and concepts (e.g. storyboards, wireframes, prototypes, etc.)
    • Knowledge of technology and the impact on the feasibility of design solutions, including the capabilities and limitations of modern web, mobile, and wearable technologies

     

    Standout Qualities:

    • Advanced degree in Psychology, Interaction Design, HCI, or a related field.
    • Mobile technology experience
    • Experience within retail, manufacturing, finance, automotive, healthcare, travel & hospitality industries
