    About the Opportunity

    Digital Management LLC (DMI) is looking for an experience Security Policy Writer with a passion and talent for aligning security architecture, plans, controls, processes, policies and procedures with security standards and operational goals to support a client in Arlington, VA. The Security Policy Writer provides subject matter expertise and services regarding complex or specialized matters related to security in performing risk assessments of vendors.

     

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate, update and prepare security procedures/guidance.
    • Excellent writing skills
    • Analysis, implementation, and evaluation of current and proposed security initiatives, needs, and programs at the FDIC and across the Division.
    • Performs assigned tasks with a high level of technical complexity or organizational visibility or requires specialized security, technical or analytical expertise.
    • Maintain knowledge of emerging and current IT security information, technology, products and services that address business needs and enhance the quality of work.
    • Synthesizes data and information to create reports, documents, and presentations of varying levels of complexity, and develops and maintains security documentation and publications.
    • Identifies and recommends resolution of processing problems.
    • Plan and implement data analyses and reporting projects of varying degrees of complexity using a variety of databases and software.
    • Develops and produces documents and reports of varying technical complexity.
    • Confers with FDIC staff to understand security processes and procedures; identify risks; and determine problems, resolutions, requirements, and enhancements.
    • Gather facts, analyze data, prepare synopsis, identify gaps, and recommend a course of action and areas of improvement.
    • Access to SI /PII when need.
    • Identify on-board/off-board gap impacting Access Management, resolved by updating organizational procedure shortfalls
    • Produce documentation regarding best practices and implementation procedures for several key systems within FDIC
    • Generate security documentation, including: security assessment reports; system security plans; contingency plans; and disaster recovery plans
    • Write and update security plans to meet NIST 800.53 standards
    • Write and maintained proper documentation for security plans
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of FISMA, NIST, OMB memorandums, and regulations and policies related to information security and privacy.
    • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills in the preparation, development, and presentation of security concepts and evaluation documents
    • Produce documentation including clear policies, processes, procedures, requirements documentation, user and system manuals, test cases, or other technical documents.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 5 years related work experience in a field related to information security and privacy in supporting the development, maintenance, and retirement of applications, IT resources, and outsourced services
    • Demonstrated experience in the development of security requirements, approaches, and documents
    • analysis of alternative security tools, methodologies, and enhancements
    • providing review, guidance, or assistance in the implementation of complex technical security solutions
    • analysis of security operations and methods to improve quality and effectiveness
    • direct and review the activities of teams performing security assessments of applications, IT resources, and outsourced services
    • Knowledge and experience with system development life cycle methodologies such that a high level of competence has been demonstrated.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of FISMA, NIST, OMB memorandums, and regulations and policies related to information security and privacy.
    • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills in the preparation, development, and presentation of security concepts and evaluation documents
    • preparation and development of clear policies, processes, procedures, requirements documentation, user and system manuals, test cases, or other technical documents. 

    Desired Skills/Certifications: 

    • CAP, Security+
