    About the Opportunity

    DMI (Digital Management, LLC.) is looking for a PIIM Strategic Communications Lead to  develops and leads the execution of a strategic communications plan that advances Performance Improvement and Information Management’s (PIIM) customer-centric business strategy. The incumbent will collaborate closely with senior leaders to design and implement communications strategies and plans that align customer-focused themes across the Naval Research Enterprise. The incumbent will help develop best practices in internal communications, constantly researching new and better ways to drive digital advocacy throughout the enterprise.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Lead strategic communications efforts for all enterprise support services including the development of internal/external senior level presentations, considering enterprise-wide strategic plans
    • Build an integrated strategic communications plan that transcends organizational boundaries, leverages a multi-media approach and easily adapts to the diverse needs of individual business units
    • Create a compelling value proposition for PIIM to drive branding and messaging for a customer centric department
    • Introduce new and innovative communication methods/technologies to share broad messaging and gather feedback on communication effectiveness
    • Produce a variety of communications assets and materials including, executive presentations, articles, digital signage/brochures and speaking points
    • Proactively identify opportunities for communication within PIIM and across NRE business lines to drive a culture of change and innovation throughout the organization
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders by seeking their input, building knowledge of individual business units and fostering a greater understanding of the direct connection between the customer experience and business results
    • Strategically counsel senior business leaders on communications plans and approaches; partner closely with support services colleagues to support ongoing executive leadership needs
    • Work as a team player to support overall organizational goals

    Qualifications

    Education and Years of Experience:  

    • Undergraduate degree required, master’s degree in related field preferred
    • 10+ years demonstrated professional experience in creating and launching internal communications strategy
    • 5-7 years demonstrated professional experience managing projects or leading teams
    • 5-7 years demonstrated professional experience in direct support of Organizational Change Management or business transformation
    • Federal Government or Department of Defense experience preferred
    • Expertise in one or more of the following: IT Strategy, Digital Transformation, Enterprise Resource Planning, Business Intelligence, Data & Analytics, Knowledge Management 

    Required Skills/Certifications: 

    • Executive presence - must be comfortable influencing and collaborating internally and externally with senior leadership, executives and across all organizational levels
    • Exceptional written and verbal communications, with the ability to synthesize insights into compelling presentations
    • Strong listening skills with a keen ability to knit together disparate sources of information into a strong strategic narrative
    • Exceptional PowerPoint presentation skills with the ability to translate complex thoughts into simplistic and comprehensive images/text
    • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results. Ability to effectively lead and work with a variety of management levels, cultures and business partners
    • Ability to juggle different projects/priorities independently, deliver high quality outcomes under pressure, and react quickly to new information, opinions and direction
    • Strong partnering skills and ability to work collaboratively across a large organization
    • Strong personal "soft" skills such as empathy, listening, mirroring and communicating in different methods dependent on individual preferences
    • Project Management and Team Leadership to inspire, coordinate and deliver results back to our customers
    • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to balance conversation within groups
