    About the Opportunity

    DMI (Digital Management, LLC.) is looking for a Database Administrator\System Administrator to works on a team of Application Support Specialists providing day to day administration of approximately (230) Microsoft SQL production databases, as well as (250) contingency databases, (4) Oracle 11c Database and (8) WebLogic Application Servers hosted on numerous Microsoft Windows 64bit servers located throughout the world. They provide for security, network, upgrades, backups, and systems performance and configuration management.


    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide technical expertise to FMXS planning personnel support sustainment of FM web and client server applications and to assist in the development of new FM requirements.
    • Perform local and remote administration of servers throughout the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC)
    • Manage the overall completion of the downloading, testing, applying, and notification for the security patches and hot fixes for over 200 AFRC, Air Force (AF) and Air National Guard (ANG) servers in order to comply with Air Force Network Operations Security Center (AFNOSC) directives.
    • Install and properly configure Microsoft Windows server and workstation operating systems for secure and efficient operation and to ensure compliance with applicable Air Force operating instructions.
    • Monitor event logs on each server to resolve hardware/software/security issues on a daily basis 
    • Interface with the program/developers on maintaining web sites; Oracle and SQL databases to improve both reliability and performance of FM applications.
    • Responsible for the server and database administration of multiple Oracle 12c Database and WebLogic Server environments.
    • Responsible for maintaining a VMware environments;
    • Develop various script files using VBScript, SQL DTS, SQLPlus and SSIS scripting languages to automate administrative tasks
    • Work closely with HQ AFRC, Active Duty and ANG Network Control Center personnel to assist in the troubleshooting and resolution of network connectivity related problems which affect FM web and client server applications.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve problems affecting customer utilization of FM applications.
    • Support the FM Functional and DTS Help Desks in the resolution of customer calls.
    • Provide support and data as requested for administrative purposes and in support of the Quality Management System
    • Must perform other duties as assigned at the discretion of management


    Education and Years of Experience:  

    • BE or BS Degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology;
    • 3-5 years SQL or Oracle experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Experience with Microsoft SQL and/or Oracle server database structure, indexing, performance tuning, security and administration; knowledge of the fundamentals of TCP/IP networking, Structured Query Language, and Windows NT Server operating systems
    • Experience with the interoperability of network devices such as network interface cards, switches, routers, and firewalls
    • Experience in vulnerability management
    • Experience in backup methodologies
    • Familiarity with VBScript scripting languages.
    • Specific skills related to task may be required for certain positions (e.g. VMWare, Hyper-V for VDI Virtual System Administration)
    • Security+ certification required
    • Basic programming skills in VB are a plus

    Required Skills/Certifications: 

    • Must possess an excellent understanding of technical issues, ability to communicate verbally and in written form effectively, and the ability to work within U.S. Government contractual realm.
    • This position requires the ability to communicate effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
    • Excellent telephone skills and knowledge of troubleshooting using vendors.
    • Ability to assist in Network Administration. Basic programming skills in VB a plus.
    • Success managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Adaptable to changing requirements and tasks. 

    Desired Skills/Certifications: 

    • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have an understanding of Microsoft SQL server database structure, indexing, performance tuning, security and administration.
    • Knowledge of the fundamentals of TCP/IP networking, Structured Query Language, and Windows NT Server operating system.
    • Familiarity with the interoperability of network devices such as network interface cards, switches, routers, and firewalls.
    • Familiarity with VBScript scripting languages. Trouble shooting skills are a must. Professional certifications are a plus.
