    About the Opportunity

    DMI is looking for a Senior Cloud Architect to help us grow our existing Cloud offering

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Contributing to the design, migration, and deployment of scalable, highly available and reliable infrastructure and applications to public clouds (AWS, Azure, Google)
    • Researching cloud solutions for unique migration and deployment issues
    • Prototyping quick solutions and testing them
    • Working with the customer to define and document mission requirements, and use cases, and develop cloud-based solutions to meet the requirements
    • Present and justify technical recommendations and strategies to Customer’s Business and IT Executive Management
    • Migrating existing on-premise work-loads and/or applications to a public, private, hybrid cloud platform
    • Selecting and integrating appropriate cloud services to support an application based on business requirements
    • Designing and deploying failover solutions for mission critical applications
    • Implementing cost control strategies on cloud infrastructure
    • Good understanding of software development processes with quality assurance, version control and build processes
    • Assessing security impact of cloud solution and migration strategy with recommendation to close security exposures
    • Recommending full migration lifecycle to Managed Services
    • Supporting Dev/Ops and/or Agile methodology that aligns to Customer’s requirements or delivery strategy
    • Determining Containerization strategy and impact to workloads and applications
    • Determining and recommending optimization strategy and/or plans with justification to customers technical leadership
    • Demonstrating hybrid cloud solution and overall impact to cloud strategy

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • AWS or Azure Architect or Developer certification (at least an associate, but professional or Specialty level will be preferred)
    • 5-8 years of architectural design, operations, and/or delivery experience required
    • 2 years presenting and supporting cloud strategy to Customer’s Senior IT Management or CxO
    • 3 years leading or managing cloud migrations
    • VMware operational/configuration and management experience required (vSphere,vCenter, vRealized, etc…)
    • Developing cost estimates for migration activity (to include hybrid solution)
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; degree in computer science, mathematics or related field preferred
    • Demonstrated experience moving commercial applications to cloud environments
    • Experience analyzing architecture alternatives in cloud hosting, and cost modeling of those alternatives
    • Experience with network integration and Cloud connectivity of public and private environments;
    • Experience of compute and storage management and cost control mechanisms
    • Experience Containers software (Kubernetes, Docker, etc...)
    • Knowledge of cloud reference architectures and best practices
    • Knowledge of cloud methodology to support Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity
    • Knowledge of ITSM and Managed Services support structure, controls, impacts
    • Experience working for a managed service provider
    • Demonstrated ability to engage customers at various technical and managerial levels
    • Strong experience in detailed technical analysis and preparation of estimates
    •  Experience with responding to technical RFP
