    About the Opportunity

    DMI is actively searching for cleared IT professionals in the Ft. Knox, KY area to fill multiple positions in support of the United States Army Human Resources Command (HRC). We have immediate openings for the positions: Project Managers, Java Developers, Application Developers, Business Analysts, Configuration Management Specialists, Database Professionals, Hardware Engineers, Network Engineers, Help Desk Specialists, Information Assurance & Cybersecurity Professionals, System Engineers, Test Engineers, Technical Training Professionals, Web Designers, and Technical Writers.

     

    DMI is seeking a Senior Network Engineer, responsible for supporting a large scale human resource business application solution  Primary responsibility:  Under general directions, includes the design and implementation of a functional network infrastructure in accordance with (IAW) DOD and DA networking policies applicable to the program  The candidate must have a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry best practices with respect to the establishment and monitoring of network communication devices within the currently approved accreditation boundary  Secondary responsibility:  Provide Linux OS support, to include diagnosing and troubleshooting production and COOP systems during authorized service interruption (ASI) periods, or when additional supportive patching or system administrative duties are necessary  The candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills, a thorough knowledge of network administration and architecture, and must be competent to work at the highest technical level of most phases of network analysis while considering the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment  Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and product quality is essential 

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:   

    • In-depth knowledge of network design and operations
    • Coordination with NEC and RNEC for Production and COOP sites for network configuration of the OC3 and VPN on both NIPR and SIPR operating environments
    • PPS Development and maintenance for both Production and COOP environments
    • Gather and manage network requirements IAW DISA approved CAL for the establishment and maintenance of system PPS
    • Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, and collaborating with network architects on network optimization
    • Work with Technical Director, Sr System Engineer, Operations Manager, and Development Team on Network requirements, to include security, and documentation
    • Perform routine network device reboots and maintenance as defined through the regular authorized service interruption schedule
    • Perform software and hardware inventories of networking devices
    • Document configurations and coordinate through the change management board (CCB)
    • Coordinate and manage disaster recovery planning with respect to established networking requirements
    • Knowledge and experience in operations and maintenance of COOP services and system backup to maintain high availability
    • Assist and provide support for long and short-range technology planning
    • Provide supplemental Linux OS support on an as-needed basis, or when additional surge support is required

     

    Qualifications

    Education and Years of Experience: 

     

    • Active Security Clearance at the Secret level 

    • 5+ years of experience

    • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Engineering or comparable work experience

    Required Skills/Certifications:

    • CompTIA Security+, either RHEL or Java certification 
    • DoD approved 8570 baseline certification:  IAT II | (eg CompTIA Security+ (CE) or better)
    • DoD approved 8570 computing environment certification applicable to position (ex CCNP or CCNA

    Desired Skills/Certifications:

     

    • F5 LTM, GTM DNS and DNSSEC experience
    • Expertise in SolarWinds
    • Experience with the Common Access Cards (CAC) and smart card authentication a plus
    • Develop and implement policies for network security
    • Security certifications such as CISSP or Security+
    • Network Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE

     

    Physical Requirement(s): (Ex: Bends, Kneels, Stands for extended periods of time; Ability to lift 50 lbs; Extensive air travel))   

     

    Location: Fort Knox, KY and travel to Fort Carson, CO may be required
