About the Opportunity

DMI (Digital Management, LLC.) is looking for a Junior DB2 z/OS Sysplex System Programmer to support our client in P.A.

 

The Db2 System Programmer is responsible for Db2 for z/OS.   This includes installation, customization, configuration, and implementation as well as patching.

 

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Planning, installing, configuring and implementing DB2 for z/OS in a data sharing group in support
  2. of high availability.
  3. Installing, migrating, and enabling DB2 data sharing.
  4. Planning, configuring and implementing DB2 for continuous availability across planned or
  5. unplanned outage of any single hardware or software element.
  6. Planning and implementing Coupling Facility sizing information for DB2 structures necessary for
  7. Sysplex operation.
  8. Planning and implementing group buffer pools in support of planned or unplanned outages.
  9. Planning, installing, testing, and implementing DB2 service level upgrade and patches.
  10. Planning and using the DB2 Setup wizard to install DB2 under Linux.
  11. Planning, configuring, and implementing DB2 SAF security to work with RACF.
  12. Planning and configuring DB2 to work with z/OS workload management.
  13. Planning and using SMP/E to install PTF and service upgrade to DB2.
  14. Planning and running REBIND in support of DB2 service upgrades.
  15. Planning and using IBM Data Studio as a complete development and testing environment for

building database objects and queries.

  1. Planning and implementing configuration changes to enhance DB2 performance.
  2. Planning and implementing support for disaster recovery.
  3. Planning, installing, configuring, and implement DB2 Connect to enable workstation to connect to DB2 for z/OS.
  4. Planning and using DB2 utilities to Load data, reorganize data, unload data, recover data and
  5. copying data.
  6. Providing technical assistance to PMO DBMS programmers.
