About the Opportunity

We are seeking a strong Senior Project Manager (Digital Content/Web) to support our global Brand Marketing, Customer Experience (CX) and Website Development teams. You will lead and manage client engagements and be responsible for overall client satisfaction, quality of service/delivery, and on-time, on-budget completion of projects. The ideal candidate is a digitally-savvy, strategic leader who can effectively manage a project on both client and internal sides of the fence. 

You will work with a cross-functional team committed to delivering fresh, citizen-focused, and accessible content for a wide array of at-risk citizen groups in the State of Maryland.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for driving project delivery and development of relationships that positions DMI for continued growth on accounts by motivating and engaging teams to produce the best possible results
  • Act as a key liason for digital content delivery and marketing, with a heavy emphasis on CX and content creation for web
  • Managing the full lifecycle of activities (end-to-end) for engagements involving discovery, sprint planning, customer experience + content strategy, research, content creation and production, IA, UX, UI, frontend + backend web development, risk management/escalation, QA, analytics, launch/release process
  • Responsible for project resourcing, prioritization of all milestones and deliverables, ensuring quality of work meets agency standards, deadlines and client objectives
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans/schedules and work with an agile team to ensure continuous delivery and involvement of the right people with the correct skill-set required for project success and overall account utilization (goals, deliverables, schedule, budget, resources)
  • Ability to foresee and identify risks, remove blockers and understanding of proper escalation among project sponsors and stakeholders
  • Manage account P&L and proactively working with teams to meet/exceed direct margin targets while tracking all 3rd party costs and supporting client invoicing according to the contract terms
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, including scope creep, quality concerns, etc. by communicating clearly with clients and internal teams and understanding escalation process
  • Ability to manage website content and comprehend tools used to create online content
  • Support customer research and usability testing efforts
  • Faciliate project retrospectives
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors/contractors as needed


Basic Qualifications

  • B.S. degree preferably in public policy, government, urban planning, sociology, or related fields.
  • 7+ years of proven working experience in project management, overseeing successful delivery on CX and research, digital content strategy and creation, and responsive website development engagements
  • Experience working with semi-regulated groups (similar to state and/or federal organizations) to create and distribute digital content/materials (in long-form/short-form formats), while also supporting long-term vision and content planning.
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented with maintaining assets/resources, including documentation, procedures, workflows, templates, etc.
  • Experience with management tools such as Jira, Asana, Confluence, Smartsheet, etc.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft O365 tools (SharePoint, OneDrive)
  • Experience working with a content pipeline and managing content in a CMS (Wordpress)
  • Manage interdisciplinary teams of 15+ people
  • Must have excellent presentation, verbal and written skills to interface with internal/external teams
  • Proven ability to manage priorities, think quickly, and perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Take initiative to identify opportunities to elevate the work with the team and help introduce innovative solutions or approaches
  • Ability to learn quickly and navigate changes with minimal direction
  • You want to do work that matters and helps the community
  • Understand the importance of emotional intelligence in motivating and supporting your teams

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience working on projects for at-risk audiences with a focus of creating content for at-risk populations or audiences that require a balance of empathy, strength and authority to overcome major/traumatic life events. Audiences such as, but not limited to: 
    • Victims of domestic violence
    • Citizens returning to the community after incarceration
    • Disconnected youth
  • Understand that content has to be great, but more importantly, it has to drive results and/or change.
  • Experience working in a semi-regulated environment (e.g government, health and human services
  • Experience with Agile methods and the Scrum framework
  • Experience with the process and workflow for other projects types, including video, branding, ad campaigns, social media, traditional media is a plus
