If this sounds like you, we can’t wait to meet.  We’re actively seeking a Sr. Software Engineer with experience in AWS, Node.js and Heroku to be an AWS DevOps Lead.

As an AWS DevOps Lead at DMI, your role is to lead product development and solution modernization efforts along with implementing modern DevOps practices.

For our clients, you’ll successfully architect, develop, and modernize custom business systems. Your responsibilities will include designing and building system components, prototyping potential solutions, and integrating disparate systems while maintaining technical integrity and consistency. You’ll tap into your experience within the AWS DevOps landscapes to aid in the construction of complex web-based interactive applications. You’ll also lead code review activities and design source code management, build, and release processes. Finally, you will look to find ways to utilize the power of the cloud and help organizations move forward in adopting an agile methodologies and modern DevOps processes.

Your Responsibilities

• Senior participant in application development and modernization efforts
• Migrating applications from Heroku to AWS
• Coding, debugging, and supporting application migration
• Participate in designing application architecture
• Implementing CI/CD pipelines
• Coaching and mentoring fellow team members

Qualifications

• Superb written and oral communication skills 
• Core understanding of AWS services
• Competency with containerization tools such as AWS EKS, ECS, Fargate, Docker, etc.
• Experience in developing solutions using PaaS with cloud platforms such as AWS, Heroku, or similar 
• Strong experience working with JavaScript/Typescript and Python. Knowledge of web frameworks like Angular, Vue, or Reactis a plus 
• Knowledge of web development technologies and tools (HTML5, CSS3, CSS frameworks, Responsive Web Design, JavaScript frameworks, etc.)
• Proven experience writing high quality object-oriented code
• Knowledge of serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda, GCP Cloud Functions, or Azure Functions 
• 2-3 years of experience in creating RESTful web APIs using Node.js, Python, C#, and/or Java
• Knowledge of Test-Driven Development, Unit Testing, and Clean Code
• Proficient with relational database systems such as PostgreSQL RDS, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.
• Good understanding of CI/CD DevOps processes & tooling including CloudFormation, Code Pipeline, Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins
• Agile/Scrum team experience
• Experience with service-oriented architectures, XML, SOAP, REST, JSON
• Ability to mentor junior resources

• Consulting Experience
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or similar certification
• BS or Masters in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
