About the Opportunity

DMI is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to support our digital commerce group.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop front-end website architecture
  • Design user interactions on web pages
  • Develop back-end website applications
  • Create servers and databases for functionality
  • Ensure responsiveness of applications
  • Work alongside graphic designers for web design features
  • See through a project from conception to finished product
  • Design and develop APIs
  • Meet both technical and consumer needs
  • Stay abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages
  • Analyze user requirements to design and develop features
  • Create thorough and clear technical documentation
  • Estimate implementation tasks
  • Interpret and follow technical designs for implementations
  • Produce efficient and high-quality code
  • Take initiative on solving difficult problems
  • Proactively coordinate with technical leads and solution architects on design questions and technical blockers
  • Provide production support to clients to ensure site up-time and steady performance
  • Perform custom program development and implementation, system analysis, design, testing, and coding
  • Occasionally travel to client locations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 5+ years of demonstrated full stack development experience
  • Expertise in server side JavaScript frameworks, such as Node.js; experience with serverless cloud functions a plus
  • Strong skills in investigating and diagnosing issues
  • Strong skills in integrating, deploying, and configuring application servers
  • Demonstrated understanding of how to build and deploy microservices and how to consume them in SPA applications
  • Demonstrated understanding of the following technologies and how to use them to build Web applications:
    • Database (preferably Oracle, SQL Server, MS Access)
    • Java and object-oriented programming
    • J2EE application servers (Jboss, WebLogic)
    • Web servers
    • HTML/CSS/JavaScript/AJAX
    • JSP/JSON
    • CDN
    • UNIX
    • Node.js
    • Typescript
  • Strong experience with JavaScript frameworks, such as Angular.js, React, Vue.js, etc.
  • Some experience using GraphQL and associated frameworks, e.g., Apollo
  • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment
  • Experience working with cloud technologies using Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and their managed services (functions, k8s, storage)
  • Experience in ecommerce or other enterprise-grade applications preferred

Basic Qualifications:

  • Previous success as an engineer on complex, enterprise-grade projects
  • Ability to follow established coding standards
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, relying on experience, research, and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals
  • Experience with technical project documentation
  • Ability to build rapport with team members and clients
  • Effective communication in English, with good verbal, written, and presentation skills

 

Ideal Locations:

Washington DC, Boston, Pittsburgh are ideal, but we will consider other geographies as well!
