About the Opportunity

 Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Develops the product vision and goals (OKRs or KPIs) with the client based on research, brand/business goals strategy work, design thinking workshops, stakeholder interviews, understanding of the competitive landscape in adjacent and current markets
  • Designs research discovery plan 
  • Identifies and has a high level understanding of the technical guardrails of the client’s systems and knows how they fit into product planning
  • With the solution architect, understands the needs of the business and makes recommendations for technology enhancements
  • Works with the strategy team to uncover market trends, competitive environment and technology guardrails
  • Identifies, analyzes and understands the data available and needed to make the product successful
  • Uses product goals to identify Epics/Features
  • Prioritizes Epics/Features with the client based on the business, technology and user needs
  • Works with the product owner to translates Epics/Features into vertical, shippable user stories
  • Manage and prioritize value-based product feature backlog and development for the product
  • Manages UX resources
  • Assists Account management in the writing of SOWs for work
  • In some situations, you may be called on to use your product owner skills to support projects:
  • Identifies and writes all acceptance criteria
  • Manages the UX/UI design, ensures developers have the key pages/components they need to build
  • Owns the consistency of the product vision and provides direction to the Agile development team (both on and offshore) and stakeholders throughout the project
  • Validation of the product against the requirements from design to release
  • Manage and prioritize value-based product feature backlog and development for the product
  • Ability to clear blockers for the development team
  • Runs sprint ceremonies: Refinement/Grooming, Sprint Planning, Sprint demos. Participates in daily stand ups & retrospectives.
  • Continually assesses the value of work being performed by the development team to ensure client receives product that satisfies business, customer & technological needs/requests
  • Owns the creation of a measurement plan with the client, sees that tagging is applied correctly, and sets up reports/leads clients in setting up reports.
  • Uses product analytics to identify opportunities for more work
  • Identifies opportunities for continued work with the client, works with account management to scope and resource those engagements
  • Assists Account management in the writing of SOWs for work
  • Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior refined user stories to work on
  • Escalates delays/blockers to project leadership
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross cultural team environment

Qualifications

Required Skills and Certifications 

 

  • Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
  • Ability to lead clients in product vision workshops & prioritization
  • Ability to work independently
  • Creative problem solver
  • Background in design thinking
  • Analytical mindset; Ability to focus on details as well as the big picture
  • Ability to fact find, probe customers, analyze, synthesize and communicate complex ideas in simple language
  • Experience with requirement definition and management
  • Exposure to agile software development methodology
  • Background in design thinking
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Projects) & Jira, Azure dev opps, miro, google slides
  • Certification as a Product Owner and/or Product Manager
  • Has worked with offshore development teams is a plus
  • 5 years of experience working Product Management/Product Ownership
  • Experience on medium/large sized B2C or B2B software projects is a plus
  • Experience working with and leading UX resources
