About the Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking a Technical Lead to join our SEC team. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to customer Information Technology managers.
  • Provide technical leadership on the assigned portfolio of applications.
  • Understand Agency Software Development Lifecycle, advise teams and technology managers on same, and support and facilitate change management processes within the agency to facilitate compliance with defined processes, governance, artifacts and ensure project success.
  • Coordinate various required technical reviews to ensure solutions meet the existing standards.
  • Assist with presentation at the Technical Review Board (TRB) design meeting.
  • Participate in market research, vendor demonstrations and small review groups to assess the impact of technical decisions on customers during the initiation and design phase of the project.
  • Research commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and government off-the-shelf (GOTS) products for potential use in process automation, workflow management, or process design and implementation.
  • Review and make recommendations on the proposed solution design. Determine whether a COTS or Custom solution is required to meet the requirements and recommend alternative solutions as appropriate.
  • Determine the components of the environments to be used for development and testing of end-user applications.
  • Work with Enterprise Engineering teams to provision environments, ensure availability, and support build, test, and release in them.
  • Assist in troubleshooting technical issues in the development, test, and stage environments.
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Engineering team to determine architectural components, including infrastructure, architectural changes, and enforcement strategies and practice.
  • Work with vendors to integrate approved solutions into the existing infrastructure and proactively identify associated potential risks and pitfalls involved, translate technical needs, and remove technical barriers.
  • Assess and make recommendations to improve the current enterprise architecture that supports business strategies and ensure alignment of business, process, data, and technology.
  • Analyze current processes and identify deficiencies, obstacles, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Create SDLC artifacts required throughout project lifecycle and other documentation as required (e.g., architecture documentation and diagrams, privacy and security documentation, standard operating procedures).
  • Guide project through various Agency oversight processes including Change Control Board (CCB), Technical Review Board (TRB).

Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical or functional discipline.
  • 15+ years IT experience 

Required and Desired Skills/Certifications: 

  • Government contracting experience.
  • Agile development experiene and knowledge of JIRA/Confluence.
  • Certifications in EA, Cloud Architecture, or ITIL.
  • Knowledge of Incident Management platforms and tools such as ServiceNow.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience across many of the following areas (listed in priority); cloud architecture, cloud migration (AWS, Azure or Hybrid), SaaS, on-premises application management, Agile development, enterprise architecture, application modernization, COTS upgrades, release and change management, enterprise lifecycle management, infrastructure management, data analytics, and big data.
  • 5+ years of solutions, enterprise, or technical architecture experience.
  • 5+ years of solutions design experience.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience.
  • Experience with analysis of alternative solutions and validating application deliverables.
  • Experience conducting market research and vendor demonstrations.
  • Experience determining whether a COTS or Custom solution is the best alternative.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Superior writing ability to create SDLC documents and artifacts as needed.
  • Ability to communicate and manage customer expectations and brief leadership.
  • Have an overall IT industry experience to apply skills in variety of domains, technical stack, platforms, operating systems, infrastructure elements and release management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and gain deeper technical understanding as needed.
