About the Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking a Senior Communication Administrator to join us. 

 

The Senior Communication Administrator is responsible for designing, configuring, deploying, and managing communication services hardware and software. This includes managing Avaya phone systems, AT&T toll-free networks, and overseeing cable management. The role involves the administration and operational management of the organization’s communication systems. The successful candidate will ensure the communication infrastructure runs smoothly, supporting business operations and enhancing organizational efficiency.

 

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, Configuration & Deployment:

    • Design, configure, and deploy communication services hardware and software, including but not limited to Avaya phone systems and AT&T toll-free networks.
    • Ensure proper installation, configuration, and maintenance of all communication hardware and software components.
    • Lead the design and implementation of new communication technologies and system upgrades.
  • System Administration:

    • Administer day-to-day operations of the organization's communication systems.
    • Monitor system performance and reliability, ensuring optimal functionality at all times.
    • Conduct regular system backups, maintenance, and troubleshooting for communication networks and devices.
  • Project Management:

    • Plan and manage communication-related projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to technical requirements.
    • Collaborate with other departments to assess their communication needs and provide customized solutions.
  • Support & Troubleshooting:

    • Provide advanced technical support for communication systems, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
    • Serve as the point of escalation for complex technical issues that require in-depth troubleshooting.
  • Cable Management:

    • Oversee the management, organization, and maintenance of communication cabling infrastructure.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety protocols for cable management.
  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Create and maintain detailed documentation of communication system configurations, procedures, and updates.
    • Report on system performance, incidents, and improvement opportunities to senior leadership.
  • Training & Mentorship:

    • Train junior IT staff and end-users on the operation and management of communication systems.
    • Mentor team members to enhance their technical skills and knowledge in telecommunications.

Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience:  

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Telecommunications, or a relevant field is required.
    •  
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 15 years of hands-on experience in communication system design, configuration, and deployment.
    • Proven experience with Avaya phone systems, AT&T toll-free networks, and cable management.
  • Technical Skills:

    • In-depth knowledge of communications hardware and software.
    • Expertise in configuring and managing Avaya phone systems.
    • Strong understanding of AT&T toll-free networks and communication cabling.
    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Required and Desired Skills/Certifications: 

  • Certifications:

    • (CTNS) Certified Telecommunications Network Specialist is required prior to onboarding
  • Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in Telecommunications or a related field.
    • Additional certifications in telecommunications or networking.
    • Familiarity with other communication platforms and networks beyond Avaya and AT&T systems.

  • Soft Skills:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team.
    • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Additional Requirements:

    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Willingness to occasionally work outside of normal business hours for system upgrades or emergency issues.
