About the Opportunity

Platform Engineer Team Lead

 

DMI offers the opportunity to participate in the evolution of end user computing technology across the enterprise. The ideal candidate is an expert IT end user engineer who has proven experience designing, developing, implementing and maintaining a standard end user delivery model. The Platform Engineer Team Lead is responsible for providing high quality support in managing, planning, monitoring, and reporting on the service and remediations. The Platform Engineer Team Lead is charged with managing and monitoring the enforcement of all applicable directives at a quality level acceptable to the customer. The Platform Engineer Team Lead will devise, and review methods for monitoring, evaluating/reporting the performance. As part of a continuous process improvement role, the Platform Engineer Team Lead will play a critical role in reporting deviations, monitoring and reporting trends, remediating non-complaint systems, and ensuring products are current.

The position is a Hybrid position which requires remote and onsite support in Arlington, VA. There may be times where the Platform Engineer Team Lead needs to be available outside of normal hours to support critical issues, meetings, or implementation windows.

 

Technology Scope of Position

  • Technologies may include end user compute, collaboration & productivity, and directory services. The focus of this role is operating systems, windows device management, group policies, browsers, printers and administrative scripting.
  • Solid knowledge of the following product space including Windows platform, Intune, Autopilot, Windows Update for Business, M365, PowerShell, Power BI, Group Policy, Azure Active Directory Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 6 platform engineers and help prioritize work efforts, complete status reports, and communicate with program level senior management and federal stakeholders
  • Perform deployments, and troubleshoot complex issues in a large network environment
  • Experience with infrastructure systems administration, and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) server health checks
  • Work in a large IT enterprise environment following SOP’s and Work Instructions to provide quality customer service
  • Provide solutions to complex issues; handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Work in a group setting and able to collaborate with remote personnel of various skill levels
  • Work with minimal supervision, with attention to detail, and follow-through
  • Ensure the Change Management procedures are followed
  • Develop automate tools for information gathering and configuration changes to the desktop environment
  • Provide guidance and recommendation for user and machine group policies
  • Maintain distribution points across all sites including vendor sites when necessary
  • Work closely with Application teams to test and approve new software being added to the builds
  • Work with Sr. Engineer to yearly review of Hardware standards and provide recommendation based on new models
  • Troubleshoot complex application issues within the end user environment
  • Maintain currency in end user market trends and participate in industry workgroups as needed.
  • Strong ability to identify issues in the environment and can efficiently communicate the issues with colleagues and upper management
  • Process oriented and can document work processes and workflows
  • Familiar with building and configuring Intune Autopilot
  • Knowledge of remote support tools +(e.g. BeyondTrust, Remote Help)
  • Familiar with core technologies such as DNS, DHCP, storage and networking
  • Basic code skills in one of the following languages PowerShell/VBScript/Python

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • 10 years of experience in IT support or related field
  • Experience in Systems Administration, including server & workstation troubleshooting
  • Experience using ticketing systems, such as ServiceNow
  • Microsoft Intune managing windows devices
  • Knowledge STIG or CIS controls
  • Knowledge of network concepts/protocols
  • Knowledge of scripting/programming
  • Microsoft Windows Desktop and Server OS knowledge (Win11, Server 2012 or higher)
