About the Opportunity

DMI (Digital Management, LLC.) is looking for a IT Logistics Resource to support our client in Maryland.  

 

Purpose

MDOT/OTTS is seeking a resource to primarily assist with our annual physical inventory of all IT Assets managed by OTTS.  Physical inventory is normally conducted by a team of two (2) logistics personnel who meet with MDOT Transportation Business Unit (TBU) IT staff or Maintenance staff to grant access to the location and the equipment at that location.  However sometimes physical inventory is conducted by only one logistics resource, who will meet with MDOT TBU personnel.  This resource will also assist with processing Excess Property Disposition of IT devices in accordance with state laws, policies, and procedures.

 

Statement of Work

The objective of this Work Order is to acquire a resource or resources with the skills and experience to assist the MDOT TSO OTTS Logistics team with daily operations associated with maintaining an accurate inventory of all MDOT/OTTS IT assets.  MDOT/OTTS IT assets includes approximately 10,000 devices located at over 600 locations across the state of Maryland.   This responsibility includes all tasks associated with the lifecycle management of IT assets, such as: shipping, receiving, tagging, tracking movement, physical inventory, periodic spot checks, and excess property preparation for secure destruction of the IT assets. 

 

Physical Inventory requires travel across the state of Maryland.  Physical inventory could be completed independently or as part of two (2) person team. Initially it is expected that this resource would be partnered with OTTS Logistic personnel to conduct physical inventory.  Once this resource is trained and up to speed, this resource could be requested to conduct physical inventory independently.  Where they would drive themselves to the site and meet up with MDOT TBU IT personnel or maintenance staff to grant access to site and location of OTTS’s IT Assets. This resource will also assist in the Excess Property Disposal process within the Logistics team. This includes coordination within OTTS Operations Team’s as well as MDOT TBU IT personnel to retrieve, process disbursements, and prepare designated IT Assets for Excess Property Disposal.

 

 

This position performs all aspects of shipping, receiving, storing, handling and retrieval of IT equipment and products. Position requires self-motivation, the ability to work effectively under a minimum of supervision, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects and have a strong attention for detail.

This resource is expected to receive general supervision from the IT Logistics personnel.

Duties (include but are not limited to):

  1. Support the customer in executing annual COMAR mandated physical inventory of IT Assets.
  2. Follows operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling, and disposition of materials.
  3. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.  Expected to be able to effectively communicate with our team and customers.
  4. Must be able to use a computer and have basic knowledge of using Microsoft Office products, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  5. Drive to MDOT customer sites to pickup and/or deliver equipment and supplies. Facility access must be coordinated with customer personnel.

 

Primary Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  1. Ability to follow established best-practice organizational operating procedures.
  2. Verifying materials against receiving documents.
  3. Documentation of and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
  4. Storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
  5. Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage.
  6. Preparing materials for disposal processing.
  7. Will operate hand trucks and pallet jack.
  8. Maintaining warehouse, closets, storage space in a safe and orderly fashion.

10.Warehouse support (i.e.) backup, assist in delivery, disbursement process and pick up assistance when required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to be able to stand; walk; sit; use hands and/or fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; operate office equipment, reach with hands and arms; climb stairs and ladders; balance; stoop; kneel; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

 

Work Environment: Majority of IT Assets are located in doors, but there are exceptions where some IT Assets are located outdoors. Maryland statewide driving required based on business demands. Be prepared for exposure to the various weather conditions. Environmental Hazards within MDOT Network Infrastructure at various TBU locations, such as: train tunnels and around train tracks, maintenance garages, roof tops while performing our physical inventory operations. Constant exposure to temperature changes while moving from within facilities. Noise level, exposure to fumes, can vary depending on the environment while performing inventory at TBU locations.

Onsite Location: Baltimore, MD (if needed) may require travel to other offices as needed.
