About the Opportunity

DMI (Digital Management, Inc.) is looking for a Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and VMware System Administrator (SA) that reports to our Operations Manager.  The RHEL and VMware SA will support and troubleshoot RHEL and VMware issues relating to performance and compliance at a minimum.  

 

Assists in managing all aspects of information technology (IT) system security as it applies to the Risk Management Framework.  Conducts investigations in anomalies found during audit trail analysis.  Assists with regular vulnerability scans, improvements, and patching of RHEL systems.  

 

Investigates and resolves RHEL problems.  Uses skills, knowledge, and resources to diagnose, determine, and solve RHEL related problems.  Stays current with RHEL developments.  Helps prepare for IT hardware replacements and upgrades.  

 

Maintains and enforces Government computer and information security policies and procedures.  Interfaces with the customer, other team members, and vendors as required.  Provides support to our organizational Information Assurance team as required.  Performs various administration duties as needed.

Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience:  

  • 5+ years of IT experience as a RHEL and VMware SA
  • IT related Bachelor of Science Degree is highly desirable; preferred degrees include computer science, computer engineering, information technology, information science, information systems, or software engineering  

 Required Skills/Certifications:

  • CompTIA SEC+ Certification
  • RHCSA (7.X) Certification and VMware Certified Professional Certification
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to download, stage, and deploy systems-related security policies and updates to maintain compliance with DISA security policies and procedures
  • Thorough understanding of VMware virtual environments to include but not limited to ESXI hosts, vCenter appliances, VxRail HCIs, and VSANs
  • Thorough understanding of LAN/WAN networking to include but not limited to TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NAT/PAT, and VLANs      
  • Thorough understanding of IT operating systems/environments
  • Thorough understanding of blade and blade enclosure systems , external disk arrays, RAID levels, NFS, SAN architecture, multipathing, WWNs, and iSCSI
  • Thorough understanding of basic computer hardware and software fundamentals
  • Thorough understanding of system administration principles
  • Experience with Red Hat Satellite and Ansible
  • Experience with SAN storage and brocade switch fabric administration

Citizenship Status: Must be a United States Citizen

 

Security Clearence: SECRET     

 

Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods of time, must be able to climb ladders, and must possess the ability to lift 40lbs items.

Location: Must reside within one hour driving time of Fort Knox, Kentucky or Fort Carson, Colorado
