About the Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking a VTC Engineer to join us. 

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • System Design and Implementation:
    • Design VTC room layouts, including audio and video equipment placement, cabling, and network infrastructure.
    • Configure VTC hardware and software based on user requirements.
    • Install and integrate VTC systems, including cabling, device configuration, and network integration.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
    • Monitor VTC system performance and troubleshoot technical issues with video quality, audio clarity, network connectivity, and device malfunctions.
    • Perform routine system maintenance, software updates, and firmware upgrades.
    • Respond to user support requests and provide technical assistance.
    • Perform physical room checks to ensure hardware operability.
    • Monitor enterprise display system performance and troubleshoot technical issues with video quality, audio clarity, network connectivity, and device malfunctions.
    • Manage ticket queues for user requests, maintenance tasks and incident trouble tickets. Must be able to update tickets regularly and swiftly resolve issues.
  • Network Management:
    • Work with network engineers to ensure optimal network bandwidth for VTC sessions.
    • Configure network settings and security protocols for VTC systems.
  • VIP Support:
    • Provide “white glove” support to VIP users including scheduling meetings, running slide decks for meetings, operation of VTC hardware during meeting to ensure video quality, audio quality, and network connectivity.
    • Mitigating any issues on the fly during a conference or meeting.
  • User Training and Support:
    • Provide training to users on VTC system operation, including scheduling meetings, joining sessions, and using features.
    • Assist users with basic troubleshooting and answer questions about VTC functionality. 
    • Unified Communications Team Support:
    • Act as hands and feet when necessary for Unified Communications Team. Tasks may include retrieving obsolete hardware, restarting servers, installing physical phones.

 

Qualifications

Strong understanding of video conferencing protocols, audio-visual technology, network infrastructure, and system integration. 

Familiarity with a range of VTC hardware and software from vendors like Cisco, Polycom, Crestron and Microsoft.  Familiarity with the Vbrick enterprise display system.

  • Troubleshooting Skills:

Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to VTC systems and enterprise display system

 

 

Must be able to pass a background investigation and financial background investigation for a Public Trust clearance.

Min Citizenship Status Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen

 

Physical Requirements: NONE

 

Location: Arlington, VA 

Onsite, Monday through Friday. Minor shift to cover core hours of 7AM to 6PM with teammates.

Some travel for VTC system installation may be required.
