About the Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking a Tester to join us. 

 

The ERP Tester will be a vital member of the MetroSync testing team, responsible for ensuring the quality, functionality, and
performance of the new Oracle Fusion Cloud system and its integrations. This role involves active participation in all phases of the
testing lifecycle, from test planning and design to execution, defect management, and reporting. The successful candidate will work
closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Project Managers, and end-users to validate that the MetroSync solution meets
WMATA's business requirements and operates flawlessly 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

• Execute functional testing during implementation of Oracle Cloud Payroll, Time & Labor,
Absence Management modules.
• Create Test script and test data for configuration, interface, report validation for Oracle Cloud
Payroll, Time & Labor, Absence Management modules.
• Assist in:
o Resolve payroll, time and leave errors during testing
o Analyzing interface issues in Oracle Cloud Payroll, Time & Labor and Absence
Management module
• Develop and execute complex ad-hoc queries using Oracle OTBI reporting tool to support
transactional and payroll data analysis for business users.
• Collaborate with technical teams to resolve system and interface issues and ensure integration
points function as expected.
• Perform root cause analysis on data discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in the documentation of business processes, configurations, and system modifications.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and end-user training sessions.
• Evaluate and test new or modified software programs and software development procedures used
to verify program functions according to user requirements and conformance to established
guidelines;
• Write, revise, and verify quality standards and test procedures for program design;
• Evaluate products to ascertain quality and status of software;
• Review new or modified programs and provide documentation, diagrams, and flow charts to
determine if the program will perform according to user requirements and guidelines;
• Recommend program improvements or corrections, review computer operating logs to identify
program processing errors, and enter instructions into a computer to test programs for validity
of results, accuracy, reliability, and conformance to established standards;
• Monitor systems during program testing to detect error codes or interruption of programs;
• Identify differences between established standards and user applications and suggest
modifications to conform to standards;
• Test programs to locate and correct program operating errors following installation of programs;
• Conduct compatibility tests with vendor-provided programs to monitor program performance
and prevent reoccurrence of program operating problems, ensuring efficiency of operations;
• Provide documentation to describe program evaluation, testing, and required corrections;
• Assess software or software enhancements for feasibility;
• Develop utility programs to test software and track and verify defects in software programs;
• Devise and/or modify procedures to solve complex problems regarding computer equipment
capacity, limitations, operating time, and desired results to meet WMATA's business needs; and
• Prepare detailed specifications of application software packages

 

Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience:  Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field

                                                           Seven (7) or more years of relevant experience

 

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience testing payroll, time keeping and absence module.
• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience supporting Payroll modules.
• Strong knowledge of time keeping and Payroll principles and experience with payroll data
analysis.
• Extensive experience with creating and managing complex analytical reports.
• Demonstrated experience supporting Oracle Cloud employee time and leave issues.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrable experience testing large-scale ERP implementations, with a strong preference for
Oracle Fusion Cloud applications (HCM, Financials, Procurement).
• Deep and extensive experience with Payroll systems and processes is mandatory. Candidates
must possess a comprehensive understanding of payroll calculations, tax regulations,
deductions, garnishments, and year-end processing. Prior experience with public sector or
complex unionized payroll environments is a significant advantage.
• Proficiency with test management tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar systems for
test case management, execution, and defect tracking.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex business requirements, identify
testable conditions, and create comprehensive test scenarios.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical
concepts and testing results clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
• Proactive problem-solver with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative
team.
• Experience with SQL for data validation and analysis.
• Familiarity with various testing methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).Experience in all phases
of Application Life Cycle Management, including systems analysis, design, coding, testing,
debugging, execution, and maintenance;
• Experience in development, deployment, and enforcement of quality assurance procedures and
standards;
• Experience developing test criteria and test plans and conducting application testing;
• Experience in designing, fulfilling, and documenting test plans and test cases;
• Experience developing automated test scripts;
• Ability to scope, plan, and schedule activities related to software quality assurance, testing, and
configuration management; and
• Knowledge and experience of IT basics, such as operating system installation,
ghosting/imaging, network troubleshooting, and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot
operating system error logs

 

Preferred Requirements: 
• Master's degree in computer science or a related field.
• Familiarity with integration tools and reporting tools in Oracle cloud
• Familiar with Peoplesoft Payroll and Kronos Time keeping modules.
• Experience with cloud-based applications
• Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks, particularly for Oracle Fusion Cloud.
• Certifications in Software Testing (e.g., ISTQB Certified Tester Advanced Level).
• Experience working in large government agencies or public sector organizations.
• Knowledge of specific large transit business processes and systems (e.g., legacy payroll/HR
systems like PeopleSoft, Kronos/UKG)

Physical Requirements: No Physical requirement needed for this position.

Location: Remote but will be required to work on-site at WMATA’s various locations, specifically:

  • 4100 Garden City Dr, Hyattsville, MD 20785
  • 300 7th St SW, Washington, DC 20024
  • 2401 Mill Road, Alexandria, VA 22314

 The manager will work with the Contractor to determine the date/time and place for on-site work. Work is generally hybrid. Specific information about work location as well as whether it is hybrid/remote can be addressed at interview.
