Data Engineer

 

Full-time professional position at Digital Management LLC’s headquarters office in McLean, VA.

 

Duties:

  • Create and maintain database objects such as tables, views, index, constraints, etc. for data platforms and custom applications.  
  • Suggest Bl technical and architectural guidance to projects and teams, ensuring that new initiatives enable effective data reporting.  
  • Ensure effective communication of user requirements. Build data structures to support requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise and support in the use of DBMS. Design and implement automation of SQL Server Installation using scripts. Define file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications.  
  • Develop, implement, and maintain database backup and recovery procedures for the processing environments, and ensure that data integrity, security, and recoverability are built into the DBMS applications.  
  • Evaluate and recommend available DBMS products to support validated user requirements. Ensure optimal database performance through exhaustive proactive testing and ongoing real-time monitoring. Monitor and maintain the backups for database recoverability for all production databases.  
  • Design, develop and maintain business intelligence solutions. Craft and execute queries upon request for data. Present information though reports and visualization.  
  • Develop Spark applications using Spark-SQL in AWS for data extraction, transformation, and aggregation from multiple file formats. 
  • Create ETL pipelines in AWS Glue and reports in AWS QuickSight for data Analytics. 
  • Develop analytics models using a variety of statistical and predictive modeling concepts, machine learning approaches, clustering and classification techniques, and time-series algorithms. Use Pandas, NumPy, Seaborn, SciPy, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn, and NLTK in Python for developing various machine learning algorithms. 

Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 4 years of experience in the job offered or a related data engineer, database architect or software developer position.

 

Special Requirements: 4 years of verifiable experience performing data engineering, database architecting or software development duties employing the following technical tools: AWS Glue, AWS QuickSight, AWS Lambda, Apache Iceberg, SAP BO, SAP Design Studio, Python, Postgres.
