About the Opportunity

DMI, LLC is seeking an AI Solutions Engineer to join us. The ideal candidate will design, build, and deploy AI/ML solutions for Federal agencies, leveraging cloud platforms and cutting-edge data science methodologies.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • AI Solution Design & Architecture: Define and implement enterprise-grade AI solution frameworks, applying best practices for scalability, adaptability, and integration into existing business systems.
  • Data Engineering & Preprocessing: Collect, clean, and preprocess structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and governance in line with industry standards.
  • Prototyping & Model Development: Build lightweight prototypes and full-scale models to validate feasibility and demonstrate business impact. Explore advanced AI/ML approaches, including LLMs, generative AI, reinforcement learning, and predictive analytics.
  • Model Deployment & MLOps: Deploy and manage models using AWS SageMaker pipelines, containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes), and MLOps frameworks (MLflow, Airflow) for continuous delivery, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
  • Integration of Advanced AI Platforms: Leverage Anthropic’s AI models and other cutting-edge LLMs to enable intelligent document analysis, conversational AI, and adaptive decision-support systems.
  • Performance Monitoring & Optimization: Conduct experiments, evaluate performance metrics, and iterate to improve model accuracy, robustness, explainability, and efficiency.
  • Collaboration & Delivery: Work closely with cross-functional teams, engage stakeholders to capture multi-dimensional requirements, and participate in Agile development processes (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives).
  • Documentation & Governance: Maintain reproducible workflows, ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices (e.g., FAIR data principles, model governance, and responsible AI), and document end-to-end pipelines.

Qualifications

Education and Years of Experience:  

  •  Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, AI/ML, or related field
  • 8+ year of overall experience3+ years of applied AI/ML engineering experience.
  • Proven track record in designing, deploying, and scaling AI/ML solutions in production AWS environments.
  • Hands-on experience integrating Anthropic’s LLMs (Claude family) or comparable advanced AI platforms into enterprise workflows.

 Required and Desired Skills/Certifications: 

  • Strong proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
  • Deep expertise with AWS AI/ML ecosystem (SageMaker, S3, Lambda, Redshift, Athena).
  • Familiarity with MLOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow, Airflow, Spark).
  • Experience with databases (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and data pipeline frameworks.
  • Familiarity with enterprise AI standards such as model governance, explainable AI (XAI), data privacy/security regulations (HIPAA, GDPR), and responsible AI principles.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to translate AI innovations into actionable business value 

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of a Public Trust background investigation and/or a Public Trust clearance.
