THE MISSION

FLETC's training records, scheduling systems, security databases, and operational reporting all run on SQL Server. You'll own the data backbone—and when leadership needs to know how many officers trained last quarter or when security needs access logs, your databases will deliver the answer.

Your databases won't just store data—they'll support accountability. Training records you protect might be referenced years later in legal proceedings. Audit logs you maintain could matter for national security.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design and administer Microsoft SQL Server environments supporting FLETC operations
• Ensure database availability, performance, and integrity across production systems
• Implement backup and recovery strategies that meet federal continuity requirements
• Support modernization and performance optimization initiatives
• Coordinate with application and systems teams for integrated database support
• Monitor and tune database performance for high-demand training periods

WHAT YOU BRING (REQUIRED)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis, or related field (advanced degree preferred) OR equivalent experience
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing databases using Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or newer
• Strong understanding of database architecture, security, and performance tuning
• Experience with backup, recovery, and high-availability configurations

NICE TO HAVE

○ Microsoft SQL Server certifications

○ Experience in federal or high-security database environments

○ Background in database migration and modernization projects

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of a Public Trust background investigation and/or a Public Trust clearance.
