Responsibilities

About the Opportunity

Digital Management, Inc. (DMI) is seeking a full-time Mobile Architect to implement publicly accessible mobile apps and web applications for commercial customers in the San Francisco area. The Solution Architect will design and develop reliable, scalable, and user-centric solutions. The Solution Architect will participate in regular stand-up meetings with developers, designers, UX, strategists, creative and the customer stakeholders to achieve these goals.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:     

  • Design and develop native mobile applications for iOS
  • Integrate mobile apps with RESTful web services
  • Plan, design and document system architecture solutions inclusive of front-end applications, back-end applications, middleware, 3rd party system integration and hosting platforms.
  • Work with UX designers, mobile architects and other developers to build enterprise mobile solutions
  • Work as part of an agile team on leading edge technologies
  • Lead planning, scoping and preparing estimates for technical solutions in partnership with client and internal teams.

 

Qualifications

 
Education and Years of Experience:   

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline
  • 5+ years experience developing applications software
  • 3 years of experience working in Agile SCRUM teams

 

Required Skills/Certifications:

  • Exceptional communications skills - written and oral
  • Ability to reliably estimate the level of effort for development tasks
  • Proficient in a continuous integration environment
  • Proficient in a test driven development environment
  • Ability to be proactive, find solutions and meet deadlines
  • Excellent working knowledge of an objective oriented language
  • Expert in Objective-C, Core Services, Media and Cocoa Touch frameworks, developer tools (Xcode 4 and 5), and workflows (both manual memory management and ARC, debugging, profiling, unit testing, continuous integration, provisioning, distributing and submission to the App Store)
  • Experience using RESTful APIs to integrate mobile applications to server side systems
  • Intimately familiar with iOS design patterns and coding conventions as well as Apple's Human Interface Guidelines and App Store Review Guidelines
  • Expert with Cloud-based hosting solutions (e.g. Amazon, Google Cloud)
  • Expert understanding of networking, local data caching and multitasking on iOS
  • Up to speed with iOS 7 changes, new features and requirements
  • Experience leading projects and overseeing other iOS developers
  • Good understanding of software development best practices

 

Desired Skills/Certifications:

  • Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript
  • Development experience with other mobile platforms (e.g. Android)
