Summary This position will support migration and readiness planning which consists of managing, assessing, and refining processes and procedures to support MDH datacenter migration. In addition, the Specialist responsibilities include creation of an application migration approach that minimizes the business impact to day-to-day operations such as downtime, data integrity issues, and costs. The position will perform a comprehensive evaluation of the current legacy environment, to prepare the environment for migration/transition to Hyperconverged infrastructure and Cloud environment. Evaluations should clearly outline migration traffic flows, involved system components, applications, and integration dependencies to support application onboarding to Hyperconverged infrastructure or cloud infrastructure. This position will be responsible for end to end technical delivery of application migration starting from analyze existing application and infrastructure, design target state architecture and modernization best practices, develop a plan to achieve target state and then perform hands-on work to deliver target state applications on Hyperconverged or cloud infrastructure.   Major Responsibilities - Experience as a technical lead working closely with customer architect, developers, DBAs, application developers and other stakeholders to capture migration requirements. - Ability to perform technical analysis, design and identify impacts (functional/technical). - Review and provide recommendations in support of strategic and operational plans for applications migration. - Designing, planning, deploying, securing, monitoring, automating, and virtualizing an enterprise server infrastructure. - Architect, plan solutions that balance standards, scalability, extensibility, supportability, and integrity - Provide expert guidance on standards for design, best practices, engineering changes, and configuration management. - Provide guidance on core components such as backup, recovery, monitoring services work with the infrastructure teams with expertise in their respective areas for design, implementation and integration with external systems. - Implement cost optimized solutions (based on usage, business requirements and budget) - Develop technical specifications, architecture and design required for deployment of applications to Hyperconverged infrastructure - Identify, track, and resolve issues impacting migrations, readiness, and daily operations. - Coordinate with application development team for deployment of code, databases and support QA and business user during testing and cutover. - Analyze configurations of both old and new hosting environments. - Identify shared libraries and other code/program dependencies - Set up SSL certificates - Create fresh (or import existing) configuration files - Import databases - Fine-tune server performance - Check and reconfigure applications that connect from remote sources - Migrate user accounts and passwords, Purge old/inactive accounts - Ensure all files copied over, Check that permissions are correct - Crawl website to identify errors - Re-Engineer virtual environment backup system to reduce overall space consumption and duration of backup operations without sacrificing data retention. - Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery protocols. - Configure and implement backup client software, and maintain backup status, backup schedules, and backup logs. - Assist with creating cloud migration strategies; defining delivery architecture, creating the migration plans.
